Brooks
ok just got this camera and am trying to figure out the settings to get best pictures. Should have gone to the meeting. Front view side view anyone thought about writing up a tutorial? i am inviting myself to your home for the sole purpose of drooling over your tank. +dapettit
I'd say you didn't do bad, very nice Don. BTW, I would be willing to type up a tutorial unless someone more knowledgeable would like to. Dave-
+dapettit
Heres the short version: IMPORTANT TIPS - before starting your photo session 1. The most important thing is to clean the glass. The inside & the outside 2. Beware of any scratches and avoid shooting through them. 3. ALWAYS shoot straight forward. Shooting on an angle will distort the image, and may even keep you from being able to focus. 4. Do not shoot at odd angles as they can distort the image and the camera may focus on the glass itself. 5. Always focus manually whenever possible. 6. Turn off all lights in the room to help avoid reflections in the glass. If necessary use a dark sheet to block all outside light. 7. And don’t wear white! Robb in Austin
You forgot one: Turn off flow inside the tank. This is mostly important for shooting corals, even SPS.

fishypets
Another tip: Make sure to stay out of the reflection if you choose to take your pictures in the nude.
Robb in Austin
Dang! Just realized I don't have one of the 75 here. Lack of maintenance has resulted in all LPS loss a few months ago and 7 fish deaths over the last 2 weeks.
