  1. I've heard good things about them. Hopefully it will work out.
  2. Anyone have a PAR meter I can borrow for a day? Just want to get some baseline measurements on my tank.

I believe there is still one listed in the Club's equipment list

  3. The tissue normally will still cover almost all of the fins when deflated. You'll be able to see the fin shapes through the tissue. It sounds more like it was damaged in the shipping process. This is deflated: http://www.ultimatereef.net/forums/showthread.php?t=548151 This is damaged: http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/hh254/Reef-d_Up/Aquarium/Corals/Rescues/101_0717.jpg Could still make a recovery, but it's typically a long process if it's like the second picture.
  4. Do you have a picture? Is it just not inflated?
  5. You should be fine with both clowns. It may require you to do more frequent water changes if you start having cyano or other algae.
  6. I'm assuming the investors could force a sale if the performance isn't up to some level though. I would imagine the city has at the very least a right of refusal in the event of a sale if not a guarantee they would purchase it.

I don't think it has to be an odd number just enough to spread the bickering around. I've never been able to keep more than 1 in a small tank (sub 50 gallons). Regardless of the number, they single one out at a time until only 1 is left. I would purchase them all at once so you can get QT and acclimation all done at the same time. I think they would be less likely to have problems if all added together as it helps prevent 1 or a group from becoming dominant and attacking new addition.
  8. Granted it does say more than 14,000 transactions. We coincidentally found out we had about $100 in unpaid tolls last Friday. Have a textag on every car and everything. Yeah, they do get a road built quickly but I think it's one of the worst things a municipality can possibly privatize.

  10. Anyone got a recommendation for guaranteed 10M/10M internet under $700 / month?

google fiber wont allow for business customers at first.. they plan on implementing a business strategy further down the line. Have you thought about not using a locally managed frame? and instead using colocated/hosted?

  11. I'd be in if I needed another one. Amazing pumps. That's a crazy price.
  12. Tunicates or some sort of sponges would be my guess. Lot of gooey blob looking stuff on there...
  13. Is it a BRS 5 stage, spectrapure, or another? Really depends on the model. Some of the high end ones with a booster pump are 1:1. Most are more like 1:3 or 1:4 with the larger number being the wastewater. Need to fill a swimming pool anytime soon?
  14. You may want to look at the cost of purchasing a Ro/DI unit yourself. If you're going to be mixing a ton of water each month for this tank, not to mention the 400 to start with, it's probably safe to assume that getting your own unit will be cheaper in the long run.
  15. Good = A BTA finally moved away from some nice ORA SPS. BAD = I don't know where.

  16. I would suspect the power supply.
  17. Are you running floss in the rear chamber? It normally should clear up after a few hours.
  18. Pretty much every whitetail we've gotten here was 150lbs max. Back in Colorado almost everything I've ever seen was 300+, mule deer though. They definitely taste better here. I guess tree bark and sage brush for 6 - 9 months of the year doesn't lend well to flavorful meat.
  19. That might be pushing it for the little dog sized deer around here.
  20. Weatherby vanguard or remington 700 would probably be my picks. Even the entry level rifles are going to be really good guns. I believe you can find them for right at $400. I have not shot either of those you listed so can't comment directly. You might see if any of the shooting ranges have models you can demo.
  21. Send a pm to Mike. He should be able to get it merged or reset your old info. http://www.austinreefclub.com/user/884-mframe-mike/
  22. No problem. I'm sure there's someone here that can do them.
  23. Any woodworkers around here that can skin a steel stand? I'm pretty decent with carpentry, but I was looking at the plywood at Lowes and HD and they all suck. Warped and based on my past experience their cuts are really rough. I have a table saw with a good blade but am less than thrilled about cutting full size plywood sheets. Last time I did full sheets mine looked worse than lowes. I'm not looking for anything especially fancy. Need to skin 3 sides of a 48 x 18 stand - 4 pieces total. Would like oak ply, possibly with trim, still trying to picture that. Otherwise just ply with routed edges.
  24. Am I the only one that gets upset with their BTA's split. Stupid green ones...

@*#&^$ BTAs! They've caused me many times more problems than aiptasia, mojano's, mantis anf gorilla crabs combined but I can't get rid of them 'cause my clients want them. >:-(

Oh, had to one-up us on that one... Do you really have a BTA??? ;)

  25. I've said for awhile that I'm really glad that we have several police officers as members of ARC. Hopefully they can pass on the message of knocking instead of busting down the door if it's white or blue light! I think I've had at least a dozen coral and livestock trades where I could swear it would get busted if any police officer was watching. I sold about 300 FW plants a while back. That's a substantial quantity of green stuff in bags getting traded in a HEB parking lot.
