  1. It's like Deja vu ARC style :) ...

  2. Is the edit post link now removed after a certain period of time? I went back to edit one of my tank builds and can no longer update the original post. I was previously using it for a chronological progression of the tank.
  3. Just ordered a Canon T2i. Finally getting a decent camera again.

  4. New ORA green planet tabling acro looks amazing. Would really like to get a frag when they become available.

  5. I have several times, but just use pellet food right now. Food processor. Get and clean some raw wild shrimp, oysters, clams, squid. Add some sperulina, nori, blanched spinach, and commercial flake or pellet fish food for additional vitamins. You can put it in ice cube trays or a plastic bag and flatten it out and freeze it. You can also add oyster eggs and other diet specific foods. I've heard of people using multi-vitamins, but watch out for copper and other metals if this is for a reef tank. Just about anything will eat this stuff and it works well for fresh water in addition to salt water fish. Best bet is to go to central market for the raw seafood. They usually carry everything fresh in their seafood section and you can pick it out individually. They will ask why you're buying small amounts of random seafood though...
  6. You could use craft mesh as well. It comes in 1/8" and 1/4" sizing and is rigid enough to hold up without any other support. I've used it for fish and shrimp isolation several times.
  7. My brother went to Cordon bleu about 10 years ago. Their biggest problem was their marketing was way overzealous in what an average graduate could expect.
  8. I use one of these: http://www.sonicscrubber.co.uk/, the yellow one is what I have. You can get them at walmart and a bunch of other places. They have interchangeable tips and are great. Have been using mine in my fresh and saltwater tanks for about 5 years. Also, if anyone has an apex or other controller, you can get peristaltic dosing pumps on ebay for about $30 each. Not dirt cheap, but the best I've been able to find.
  9. Will be watching my Buffalo in about 3 hours at the Irwin Center. Go CU!

Awesome. I heard next year Cowboys stadium is a host spot. That's going to be insane.

16 down at half it was looking ugly and then 20 unanswered to go up by 4. So close... Great game though.

That's all you can ask for. I know a lot of people were picking CU. I love the tournament. I've taken off weeks just to watch the 1st 2 rds. Anything can and will happen. Lots of upsets today.

  10. Just saw 4 telephone poles down in South Austin. Might be a good time to figure out electrical redundancy for short power outages.

And there goes the home internet. At least power is ok.

I just checked the weather report and looks like the wind is blowing out to the ocean so hopefully I won't be blown out to sea :P. Does anyone in Pflugerville know if the power is still on?Hope my tank is ok....

I'm on the RR Pville border and the power is still on.

  11. Water in a tank would be my take on it. I'm not using lights because doing that while cycling is just an invitation for unnecessary algae.
  12. Same thing here. Also works well for manual dosing when a bottle is getting low. You can just suck it out of the bottom of the bottle with the airline tubing.
  13. Used to be a little. Down to a single mini blade MCX heli.
  14. I don't think so but they start rattling, grinding, or cease up when they're going out. If you search around it's pretty common for them to fail on the dry side after a few years.
  15. I've got a micro bearing puller if anyone ever wants to replace the dry side bearings in a MP40. I think it will work for a MP10 as well. It's basically a $30 fix for very good quality replacement bearings vs a new Dry side from ecotech @ $250. If you're in warranty I would contact ecotech since it's pretty easy to break the motor magnets even if you know what you're doing.
  16. Actually plumbing (tubes, hoses, etc.) are zero. Fitting are actual cost.
  17. It's supposed to be fair market value for used stuff. That's a bit subjective but as long as it's in the realm I don't think anyone is going to argue.
  18. Anyone know where I can get some 1/2" john guest elbows locally? Does lowes carry them?

Home Depot has them, I've bought them there.

  19. If we want to use macros or mangroves would that be considered livestock or coral?
  20. How hard are those to keep? I've seen them in local shops and on ebay and several other places. Keeping nutrients in check in a pico or nano is pretty tough. If they're anything like regular seahorses I couldn't imagine having a stable system after a few weeks.
  21. I sure don't. Still debating with myself on what type of rock I'm going to use. I do have the tank, sand, heater, and lights. But, I need to build the LED fixture and figure out how to hang it. Hopefully it will come together at some point.
