We booked at the Seaside Motel today also...Thursday to Sunday...if we can afford to (won't know until it's closer), we may go down on Wed. Also looking at the casino ship. My husband found websites that talk about it, but the links to the actual company's website seems to be owned by someone that buys up old domains and throws ads on it.

Wow, that's a list. I should do that so we don't spend all our money buying things we forgot. LOL...don't forget to bring the dogs. I'm bringing my little Pekingese and probably my Rottie Thunder to keep her company when in the room by themselves.

BTW, who is bringing wood for the bonfire? Are we actually doing one? I didn't know if Belinda mentioned one because the other group usually does one, or if one was really going to happen. I will have a full car so I can't bring wood unfortunately.

Don't forget the chocolate and gram-crackers to go with the marshmellows.

hot dogs, buns and condiments.

Question: are glass containers allowed on beach? Or do we need to find

wine coolers in a can? Dr. said not to drink, but a bit of wine with meals is okay. LOL

he didn't define what a 'bit' is and I figure smores and hot dogs constitute a meal.

wayne and lynn

Don't know which vehicle we are taking yet, so we might be limited on space as to

what we bring.

I'm from Corpus and a Chef, so if you guys need some food idea's in and around corpus just let me know.

Ok Kris.

List some places for us. All across the price spectrum if possible and anything on the island would be great.

Kris - is the 3 Georges (?) still open? Loved their shrimp both grilled and peel ur own.

For those looking at the Texas Treasure, we did a pre-wedding party on it 5 years ago. It was fun... the food though wasn't that spectacular if I recall.

We are going down to Port A this weekend and staying at the Courtyard Condo's. Would be happy to bring back a report on them (they are mid-island).

Robin and I may be interested depending on the rate.

We used to do a lot of deep-sea fishing out of Port A. There are several condos on the beach you can rent rather cheaply (we shared one with another couple). There is another called the "Courtyard" that's pretty cool. All the rooms face the courtyard. We used for rather large fishing trip. If you are interested I can get the info to you C & B.

For those who have been before, what type of net is recommended?

I saw a few at Academy but wasn't sure which type to get.

They have some handheld dip nets, ranging from 2 ft to 6 ft long, with both nylon and some type of rubberized netting. Obviously, the tighter the netting the better.

Come on Dave, book a cheap place in Corpus or Rockport and just drive over!

The extended handles are awesome. Anything works as long as it has plastic or metal around the rim so that the net doesn't tear on he rocks and yes...tight netting. I will show you the ones that we have when you come over next week.

Chad we might be interested in going, especially with a different group of people. The other group finally posted some info but the room is expensive and they are charging for everything and BBQ on the beach? The first BB trip we had the meal at the beach and everything got sand in it...and the wind was not blowing...not a good idea. LMK if I can help with anything...it would be great to have this trip and another one in Oct.
