  1. Are you sure they're stars? I have tons of spaghetti worms and have those tentacles coming out everywhere. Otherwise, a great problem to have.
  2. That's awesome! If anyone is looking for micro-feather dusters (fan worms) I have a colony going that just continues to multiply. The heads are smaller than a dime but they reproduce quickly.
  3. Most alarm companies will install for free if your house was prewired for it. They make you sign a 2-3 year contract and the terms can be a PITA. For example, you sign a 3 yr contract and there is only a 10 day window at the end of the contract in which you can cancel. Miss that window and you're automatically renewed for another 3 years. Only way out is an incredibly expensive buy-out or they ding your credit. When we built our house 2 years ago we got one of these deals with a company called CounterForce. Luckily they were just bought out by ADT, who sent a letter saying that terms are now that you go on a month-to-month at end of original contract. That said, we have about 5 extra "Home protected by ADT" stickers that you are welcome to have. Put them up on your doors and windows and nobody will no any different....

    Blue hornets

You can upload directly to here as well...
  5. I have a red knobby star in both my 29g and 90g, they're super hardy. I loved my marble linkia but it eventually passed. I have a sand sifting star that is a great part of my cleanup crew, but not what you want if you're looking to enjoy seeing him out and about in the tank. Finally I have a serpent star who is very cool and a great scavenger. My wife hates him though. The blue linkia can be very hard to keep even if you acclimate slowly. I wouldn't make it be my first star...
  6. Did they have any damage on them when you found the bodies? I found that mine are really aggressive toward each other, especially when i add a new one.
  7. Definitely not recommended and not reef safe though. As it gets bigger you'll most likely experience some problems. Beautiful fish though
  8. I have a money cowrie just like that one, have had it for a year and had no issue with it. It's a cool little critter. See if you can identify it here before automatically removing it. Additional links: link 1 (what mine looks like when it's completely retracted) link 2 shows what one looks like partially extended link 3
  9. Walgreens has the "Mighty Putty" 3 pack, as seen on tv product, for $9.99 Mighty Putty
  10. The seizures sound like the mating dance both my pairs do. Keep an eye out for eggs on the underside of rocks where they hang out. They're bright orange when first laid and turn brown over the next 7 days.
  11. *bump* Let me know what you have, I'm open to paying more for the right pump.
  12. she may need to upgrade the filtration on that little tank, as the stock filter is not so good Yeah, I added one of these. I know it looks cheap, but the spray bar attachment sits at the back of the tank and creates incredible flow when combined with the stock one. $15 and worth every penny Tom Aquarium Products Mini Internal Filter
  13. Are you running a sump? Are you looking for a hang-on-back or one that will fit within the cube with the stock lid on?
  14. Seems like a wide spectrum on what the purpose of the tank is. If all you want is some softies and a nice desktop tank then you can't do better than this all-in-one for $40 picotope MH and Cree LEDs are quite an investment for a pico.
  15. At Fry's in the computer case section they have a dual cold-cathode setup with power cable for $7. It works great, and you can get them in white, red, or blue. The emit no noticeable heat and are completely enclosed in acrylic, so water tight.
  16. Yep, I'd go with a marble fromia or the red knobby stars. I got two of the red knobby ones and they are awesome, bright, and always moving around the tanks.
  17. Anyone able to help out with this situation? There I Fixed It
  18. My friend picked a 3g up at aquadome for about $40. I bought mine on the last Marine Depot group buy here, it's worked great on my desk at work for softies and a small bubbletip anemone. I think Aquatek has them as well.
  19. I've had a few frags of zoas melt like that, left the plug in place, and found that three months later an apparently completely barren rock would show a new zoa growing. Just saying that if they do melt, leave the plug there and you might be suprised if it rregenerates.

    hello from ireland

Welcome! Also keep in mind that any equipment deals you find here will run on American voltage. Hate to see you pick up a good deal on a light kit only to blow it out with 210-220v.
  21. Here's my backup plan: Backup plan Oh crap, it's USB, so guess I will need a generator.
  22. Elegance corals are very finicky. I don't believe there is much you can do to keep the clown from hosting it short of removing one or the other from the tank. I can say that the clown can hurt the elegance. Their flesh is tender and their skeleton sharp, so a rub the wrong way can cause the flesh to abrade which often means the end of the coral. I had an issue with hermits walking over mine, their feet would poke holes. It's a pretty coral, would you rather have it or hosting clowns? You might be able to put a tank divider in and get a small bubble tip anemone. Keep the clown and anemone together until the clown starts hosting it. If it's like my clowns though, it will host multiple things in the tank so I don't know that it would get the result you're looking for.
  23. Otherwise you end up with drunk fish, and SWI (swimming while intoxicated) charges can be expensive if all of your fish are convicted.
  24. I'll take it if it's still available.
