  1. K, I'm in for a Coral Beauty Angel (Centropyge bispinosus)Small: 1.5-1.75$26.99
  2. I'm in for: Devils Eye Frag (WYSIWYG) -Size 1" $ 22.99 I'll pay you when I see you shortly.
  3. Should be fine for cichlids, though I liked the taller 29g. I had yellow labs, a red empress, and a socolofi (meanie). I would definitely avoid the jewels, they're mean and not a community fish.
  4. just saw this, good reviews for $300 pentax w80
  5. Happy B-Day Gabe, hope you're getting a new prize for your tank.
  6. All respect, but have to disagree with you on that one Prof. Roosters and dogs fight in the wild as well but putting them together for sport or entertainment doesn't make it right. I don't think any of us would intentionally feed an octopus to a shrimp when other foods are much more readily available and cheaper. This just seemed in bad taste to me. Oh, and I'll be taking the calamari for an appetizer....
  7. We bought the disposable Kodaks for our barrier reef trip. They suck and you won't be happy with the quality. You don't necessarily need to buy one though. In Australia we were able to rent a very nice underwater cam for $60 ($40 first day, $20 second) with a 2gb card. They burned a dvd with all the photos when we turned it in. Since you have a few days, google "underwater camera rental" +Florida and you should turn up tons. This will get you a top of the line cam without the full cost, and no film developing. With digital it is soooo nice to be able to review your pics at lunch to see what turned out, what didn't, and then go retake the ones you want. Also, with the nicer cames you can record video. We did this and in the picture shows my wife made of our trip the show occasionally cuts to video, I love the effect.
  8. I haven't found it in town anywhere, but it's available on the website. It's called "Pond and Stone", green can. I talked to the mgr at HD and he said they don't stock it. Ace Hardware claims to carry it amazon.com ace hardware The Dow Chemical Company is helping to bring nature back into your yardwith GREAT STUFF™ Pond & Stone Waterfall Foam Filler. 9. Yeah, i'm really shocked that they would post it on reefcentral
  10. Great Stuff makes a marine safe foam for use in fountains and tanks. I think the can is black. I wouldn't use anything else since the others will eventually break down.
  11. Hope you named it and started putting money aside for its college costs....
  12. Is she still eating or acting oddly other than the bumps?

  16. Happy birthday Dave, hope you're doing something fun!
  17. Thanks, yeah, this was my prize coral when I got it. This morning the main stalk is still clear and extended. The frag is partially extended which means I can't tell if it has jelly in the center or just un-extended tentacles. The green torch remains clear as does my hammer. Originally it was so huge that I fragged it for the Maast frag trade and got lots of goodies. Now I'm just glad some of the colony exists outside my tank. Southside has a frag as well, so worst case I can get some back from him later on. As for diagnosis, it's definitely jelly. It is absolutely amazing how quickly this stuff grows. We're talking 2-3" growth from clean in a number of hours even if not exposed to light.
  18. Had no choice but to frag them. main body, the obviously infected one, and 3 frags. Iodine dip and vitamin c treated as last time, separated by space in the tank (I don't have a QT setup) 4 hours later the obviously infected and 2 frags were covered with the jelly again so out they came and are disposed off. Crossing my fingers for the main body (now 2 head) and the 1 frag. My green torch has been next to these throughout, though it's much shorter. We'll see how things look tomorrow.
  19. So this afternoon two additional heads of the torch were covered with this same thing after being clear for a month. Is there any chance that this is some kind of process with the coral and not brown jelly? I've never seen the torch reproduce or grow, but if I clean this stuff off it's back in now time. It appears to be surround the whole head and tentacles where it is affecting, but actually starts on an inch or so below on the bony structure. Could really use some advice if I should just frag off these two heads, but hate to if I have another option.
  20. Ran into this situation when my wife's best friend (and two sons age 3, 6) came to visit. Our main rule was look but don't touch, enforced by standing with your hands in your back pockets. It was so funny watching their fingers dart forward to point and say, "Ooooh, what's that?" and then realize and quickly put their hands back. I didn't feel comfortable feeding in front of them because I didn't want them seeing how to put things in the top of the tank. Not sure how I'd handle it if they were here all the time... Maybe I'd hire that one-armed guy from Arrested Development and stage an elaborate situation where it appeared that some fish died from something that happened culminating with his arm coming off, and then he could say, "And THAT'S why we don't put hair detangler in the aquarium!"
  21. I'm out for the hawk, too aggressive for my tank. Please keep me 2nd in line for the dendro
  22. any word on the t5 retro? I may be in for one as well, the kit seems to be cheaper than me piecing together the pieces i need.
