1. Kim, Tim told me that you did it with your bare hands. Even if the tank is not up and running, let us consider MUSTER. What a way to initiate the new house. Laissez la bonne temps roulee, Patrick PS. On a side note. Our VIP TOUR of UT Marine Bioscience Department is on. We moved it to the week after Easter to get both department heads involved. Jerry says no problem with your infant.
2. Hide eggcrate in frag propagation tank. I place 3/4" PVC pipe as spacer on top of 1" aroggonite substrate. This makes for a stand alone frag tank. Patrick
3. I love the explosive color of the Yellow Tang. I find them peaceable in solitaire are in schools of five and larger. Very impressive tank.

I like the color of your lights. Very natural looking. The reds and green of the macro are a nice contrast. Patick

7. Amen. A good rule of thumb for me is "Mean what you say and say what you mean". Keep the peace, Patrick

10. Between 1966 and 1972 I was a mechanic in the Air Force on muti-engine reciprocating aircraft. Looking for adventure, I voluntered to work in close support in Vietnam for ground operations using antiquated aircraft from world war two. Puff the Magic Dragon was outfitted from Douglass DC6 and DC7 which was the workhouse of air transport during WWII. After four 90 day combat tours in Vietnam, I got all the excitement that I need for the rest of my life. After returning home, I entered the Texas Maritime Academy and gradulated *** lada with a BS in Marine Engineering. For thirty five years, I worked as a deepwater subsea engineer in offshore drilling. For two years during those 35 years, I worked in the municipal waste water treatment industry. At this time, I am deciding how I am going to make money growing seaweed. Patrick Drew, you have started a very interesting thread.
11. We may need to talk about a water retention project on my wet weather stream bed. Come out and visit sometime. Patrick

Nice looking crawfish.
15. Too much light. You burnt them. If your DIY is not dimable, then increase vertical of light source.

16. Tim, I am a big fan of diverse nutriant pathways. You have put the crowning touch on my thoughts with these clams that reproduced in your closed system. Jolly good show. La bonne temp roulee. Patrick

Really nice crafmanship. Very clean sharp lines, I like your work. Very impressive wood floors.

Your Cajun friend,
Patrick
18. Welcome to the hobby. I have been doing marine tanks for more than 30 years. Each day I appreciate the beauty and perfection of creation. May you find truth and happiness in this hobby. Remember, only bad things happen fast, in our captive reefs, good things take time.

19. Maxima, I remember removing the bio-balls in my wet/dry filter. It was a big leap of faith. Since that time, 20 years ago, I have embraced a low tech/more biology technique. Every method has its pros and cons which need to be dealt with. Leaving your skimmer running, imo, is not a big deal, particularly if it has been operating in a steady mode. Without knowing the specifics of your tank, it would be like shooting in the dark to give you specific advise. Only in extreme cases, as a last resort, would I break down a tank that has been set up for a year or more. In the last 30 years, all my tanks were set up to run on automatic. My job as a deep water subsea engineer would send me away from home at least 28 days at a time. Enjoy your vacation and have someone that you trust, look in on your tank. I also suggest getting a good maitenance person as a back up resource that your homesitter could talk with. Patrick
20. Mcallahan, Because I am a big propanant of skimmerless operation I don't completely agree with the Mr Hankie analogy. It did make me laugh and for that, thank you. As I have posted many times, I like multiple nutriant pathways. Bacteria as well as micro fauna and fana process nutriants and feed the captive reef. They do not go on vacation when we do. I am not much on being a teckie and have adopted John Tullock methods of "Less Technology and More Biology". I look forward to meeting you at March Meeting. I will be hosting the April Meeting and would enjoy discussing these things with you. Spread he peace, keep the Faith, Patrick
