  1. Skunks are the pickier of all the clown on what anemones they host in. I believe in nature they host in carpet anemones. I also read online they will also host in Seabae anemones. My skunk ignored my bubble tip also.....
  2. Mine (which I got the same time you did) are definitely growing. The two side heads are about double the size they were when I first got them from Mama.
  3. The second pic is a limpet, and if that is what you have, then they are a great addition to the clean up crew. Unsure if the first ones are good or bad.
  4. I think the water is going to spill out sitting like that
  5. Not the best picture, but this is from pretty recently.
  6. Last day to vote, and still a tie for the #1 spot!
  7. I got a 3 head frag from Rock'n Reefs, and really love them too. Gives you the loo of an anemone, without the trouble
  8. Very nice! Gives me something to aspire to when I set up a pony tank. I really like the red/white sponge in there with them.
  9. Only premium members can edit their posts past the 1 hour mark. Normally we just leave the posts there, and you can just put a reply saying the item was sold. If there is personal information you want taken out of the post, just PM me a link to the thread and I will remove the information.
  10. If you are planning on getting a jawfish, be sure your tank is suited for one. They are jumpers .. so need a closed top. Also, the rockwork needs to be very secure (touching the bottom) as they tunnel a lot.
  11. Welcome! Be sure to make it to the May meeting if you can.
  12. You could rent out Mark's turbo snail
  13. Generally favia's do not have long sweeper tentacles (compared to something like Galaxia whose sweepers can get inches in length). So basically you should be able to place it near other corals (say within a inch or two), but I would just keep an eye on it once you put it in.
  14. Final two days to vote... and we have a tie! Time for the stragglers to voice their opinion.
  15. I know you were joking when you said this, but that is a good thought. The only thing is though, I don't think they would leave starfish arms/parts laying around.
  16. Do you have hermit crabs? My hermits went after my sand sifting star that I used to have. But they never touched stars that would crawl on the glass/rockwork.
  17. I am already double booked for that day, so won't be able to make it. Have fun y'all (and thank you offroadodge for hosting)!
  18. I would probably stick with bulbs don't don't add any more actinic then. It is the 10K/14K part of the spectrum where you are going to get the most growth from, thus if you decrease the amount of the daylight portion, you will see less growth. The actinic is mainly there to make the colors "pop" out in florescent.

    cool culerpa

Moving this to the WTT/Free section.
  20. The numbers! Oh, the numbers! How many bulbs are you replacing? The reason I ask, is because if you are replacing just one, I would not go with the 75% actinic/25% daylight... you would loose a lot of white spectrum. I guess it depends on what color you are looking for. If you are happy with your current mix (sounds like separate 10K bulbs, with supplemental actinic), then I would stick with that. Especially if you are planning on changing to T5s or MH down the road. I would think the 2-n-1 14K bulb with actinic would be too blue. (BTW, the money spending does not stop with the end of the wedding ceremony )
  21. Even though they are not part of the main lighting, their spectrum will shift over time (as you indicate). And this shift will most likely be into a range that is more favorable for nuisance algae. So I would put them on a replacement rotation also. Now this will not "harm" your corals ... more just enjoyment of the tank
