  1. You may want to look at the cost of purchasing a Ro/DI unit yourself. If you're going to be mixing a ton of water each month for this tank, not to mention the 400 to start with, it's probably safe to assume that getting your own unit will be cheaper in the long run.
  2. Good = A BTA finally moved away from some nice ORA SPS. BAD = I don't know where.

  3. I would suspect the power supply.
  4. Pretty much every whitetail we've gotten here was 150lbs max. Back in Colorado almost everything I've ever seen was 300+, mule deer though. They definitely taste better here. I guess tree bark and sage brush for 6 - 9 months of the year doesn't lend well to flavorful meat.
  5. That might be pushing it for the little dog sized deer around here.
  6. Weatherby vanguard or remington 700 would probably be my picks. Even the entry level rifles are going to be really good guns. I believe you can find them for right at $400. I have not shot either of those you listed so can't comment directly. You might see if any of the shooting ranges have models you can demo.
  7. Send a pm to Mike. He should be able to get it merged or reset your old info. http://www.austinreefclub.com/user/884-mframe-mike/
  8. Am I the only one that gets upset with their BTA's split. Stupid green ones...

@*#&^$ BTAs! They've caused me many times more problems than aiptasia, mojano's, mantis anf gorilla crabs combined but I can't get rid of them 'cause my clients want them. >:-(

      I've never had one split.

Oh, had to one-up us on that one... Do you really have a BTA??? ;)

  9. Budget? Are you looking for a pendant style or light strips? Build my LED makes some cool strips. Reef brite tech strips are really nice as well.
  10. I used BRS pukani on my pico and it did cause a cycle by itself. Not sure what was on it but there was something that needed to decompose. I would either add it very slowly to an existing system, or cure it in a big tub for a few months before adding to an existing tank.
  11. Used to be reefclub. Enter during checkout. Just a note based on my experience, you may want to order a crew for a smaller tank. They tend to put way more than what I would ever want in a tank. I'm not complaining for getting much more than expected, and their service is top notch, but I would literally order a 50 gallon kit for a 200 gallon tank.
  12. Watched an amazing documentary on bluefin tuna yesterday. Didn't realize a fish could be warm blooded. Totally amazing national geographic if anyone can find it.

they tracked on tuna going from cali to japan 3 times in 600 days!

  13. How narrow is the flow on them? I have all my vortechs up at 100% in the new tank and it's driving me crazy. I can't see not switching to tunzes or something else in the next few months.
  14. I'm still thinking too much light or too direct flow. API ammonia tests routinely read .25 or .50 which is actually zero, so I wouldn't worry about that. Maybe just move them back down and see if they respond well. 9 drops on API alk should be 9 DKH which is totally in range.
  15. I'm assuming you're using an API test kit for the ammonia, otherwise, you could still be in a cycle. That No3 and PO4 shouldn't be any problem for those coral. Possibly too much light. Are the coral in direct flow?
  16. The move into the 90 starts today...

  17. Are you able to opt out of ads as a forum owner?
  18. I think a Pico sub forum in tank builds would be a good idea.
  19. I've seen Amazon offer this app for free several times for android as well. Not today, but here's the link to their app store. The daily free app is always on the main spot. http://www.amazon.com/mobile-apps/b?ie=UTF8&node=2350149011
  20. Need to borrow some ~36" bar clamps for a few days if anyone has some.

I got 2 for doing wood work, there straight flat steel not bar tube though.

  21. I don't saltwater fish much, but I typically sell my fly fishing stuff on ebay. Can't get a fair price on craigslist.
  22. I've seen several where the wall behind the tank is painted light blue and it gives a really cool gradient effect. Haven't ever seen one like this though. Really give the tank depth, at least in pictures. I would definitely like to see one close up.
  23. Got another tank for my office. I swear this hobby is like a disease and I'm certainly terminal.

Well, there's a lot worse ways to spend your money AND time. :)

  24. Only thing that really irked me was that shark fiasco. I don't watch it much but it's entertaining. They definitely fill a niche that most reef keepers want nothing to do with.
  25. That's crazy. I don't know how you would keep track of them all.
