Purchased some pink zoa's today from the Dome. Unfortunately when I was taking pictures they still looked like this:

Though by the end of the night, part of them started to open. Will try to grab some pictures tomorrow.

In the mean time, took some various pictures of the rest of the corals.

Let me grow them out for a while. There was some die off on the frag when I got them yesterday that I partially cleaned off, and my fish did the rest. So I want to let the colony recover a bit.

Last week I created three frags of this (but left part of the mother colony). Last night all the polyps on the frags were gone ^_^ Not sure if they came unglued, melted, or hermits carried them off.

I would be surprised if they came unglued, because I glued down some loose green zoas I got in trade for an urchin, and they are going strong.

The mother colony is doing OK so far.

Shh... don't tell Mark, but I got a shipment of new stuff today. Mr. Coral was having a big sale last week, and I was able to order 12 WYSWYG frags of zoa's and LPS with free shipping. One of these days I will buy something from the Vivid group orders :o

So on to the pictures! Boy, o, boy did I take a lot of pictures. I think I will have to pace them over a few posts/days. And I also have a video I need to edit and get posted of the tank!

To get things started, here are the new items from Mr. Coral. I have to say I am very pleased with everything. Most of the zoas were opening in the bags when acclimating, and most are 90% or more open now.

Click on any picture for a larger version.

Packed very well:

Some of the zoas I purchased (still opening):

IMG_1835.JPG

These were freebies (sorry, I hid them behind a gorgonian):

IMG_1836.JPG

One of the favias I got:

IMG_1842.JPG

I think these are a type of african blue zoa (another freebie). I know a lot of people have problems with them melting, thought I would give them a try since they were free. I had planned on mounting these in a different spot but I mixed up the frags.

Some red people eaters:

More freebies:

More zoas I purchased (the picture does not do them justice, the yellow really pops):

IMG_1846.JPG

3 acans and another favia I got (I already had the orange brain to the left):

And to wrap up for now, a different angle on the FTS:

3rd acan (this was in some higher flow when I took the pic, moved it last night to see if will be happier in a lower flow area):

Favia (I really like this):

Not new, but I still love my orange brain .. it is growing nicely:

And a full on FTS:

Still have some more pictures (more close-ups of the zoa collection), but will save those for another post.

Woke up this morning to find my last naked clown dead :o

Not sure why ... but he/she (probably she) has seemed "lonely" the past week ... swimming along the side of the tank with it's reflection.

I had planned on getting another non-naked clown for companionship in the near future. Will probably get a pair (or more) or some other clowns here soon, that will hopefully host in my GBTA.

I wish I did ... that was my favorite coral. But at one point I had gotten a bicolor blenny and the little #$@! kept nipping at it. :o

I got rid of the fish, but the plate never made a full recovery and eventually died.

I have been looking for another one, but they have been expensive at the LFS.
