  1. What is your PH now? I personally like 2 part solutions over buffers. You add them daily and it is easy to maintain a consistent balance. Something else that may have jumped considerably is your Kh.
  2. PH is like salinity it needs to be adjusted over a few days.
  3. How much did you raise the ph? You can over dose iodine but I can't believe 1 drop would be the cause
  4. Bulk Reef Supply has dry rock and it is not that expensive. They are not that far from you up there. You should look into them, good products good prices.
  5. Canister filters are a breading ground for nitrates and phosphates, if you are going to run them remove everything inside of them and only run carbon in them. They really don't have a place in saltwater.
  6. I don't believe that you can increase skimmer performance by having less water flow to it. Your skimmer is going to operate at the gph of the pump running it. I try to have a total flow of 30-40x my tank volume and bout 6-7x through the skimmer compartment 3-4x in the fuge. I think the slower flow inth fuge is good but not in the skimmer. The more flow just keeps the waste suspended in the water column and off the rocks and sand bed. If it is suspended in the water it will eventually run through the skimmer.
  7. How much for the tri color and Blue tip stag? Will email
  8. OK, I want to add 2 7x16 filter socks @4.99 each($9.98) Let me know the total on the shipping when ever you get it and I will send PP
  9. Welcome, The best advise I can give you is read all you can, go slow, go slower, and ask a lot of questions. I have been in this for 15 years now and learn something new all the time. You can spend a lot of money in this hobby but you can waste a lot more. There are many ways to do things but there are ways that are proven to work better than others.
  10. I have an order coming in tomorrow but forgot a couple things. I want a stick of epoxy($5.75) and a frag rack(n52 mag rack $21.99)
  11. Thanks Laura and Seahorsejl. With the new tank the addiction is really taking hold again. I had been fighting it off fairly well but all this new space is getting to me.
  12. Nice set up, I am very impressed.
  13. I have never seen a tank like this. I found the pic on another site.
  14. I have about 6' cords between my icecap ballasts and the mogel base with out any problem. I also have the older ballasts.
  15. Are you alright? Was that before I saw you at the store?
  16. Welcome, ask questions before you buy it will save you money. I agree with bigger is easier.
  17. Very cool. I have never heard of it before. That's what I love about saltwater there is always something new or different to see and learn.
  18. I wish you would have posted this yesterday, I just bought one from RCA.
