Looks like it could be cyanobacteria, but it seems like a strange location for it. Are there any other places that it is located? and don't worry about asking questions everyone here need info sometimes.

A nine volt battery will turn the fans if they are good. Just touch each wire to a terminal on the battery. You might have to clip the wires, but you would prbably have to do that to replace the transformer anyway.

I have mine out of the sump. I have only had it running for a few weeks so don't have any pros or cons yet. I feed mine with an aqualifter. I wanted to use a maxijet 1200 but the feed line was 1/4"

The curent science has been edited. The base line numbers for the US originally had 4500 weather stations being read. There are only 1500 being used to show global warming. A majority of those omited were in colder regions of the US. Russia, Austrailia, japan and others have reported the same discrepancies it the current data. NASA came out last year and filed a report that stated the recent warming trend was due to sun spot activity that has ceased. The original scientist that came up with the global warming theory died before he could retract the theory as not based of facts but just a paid for paper written as only one posibility. His retraction was found on his computer after his death. Science should look at all the facts not use only the ones that keep their funding. Do we need to conserve and preserve our enviroment? Yes. Do we need to destroy our way of life to make the politically conected rich? No. All of the Co2 and global warming "science" is tied together. Z, this is where I was coming from and what I based my statements. Nothing ment to be personal.

True and clear will get algae growth so you might want something like spa tubing that is white fairly stiff but some what flexable and you can glue it like PVC

Since the earth has actually been cooling for the last 15 years and all the global warming data has been proven to be fixed I think they will make it. The earth was much warmer in the middle ages and colder in between. Here is a chart that shows the change in sea levels for thousands of years. Our planet changes and life adapts.

The waste water is cleaner then the water you start with. It goes through 3 stages of filtration before it is waste water. It is not a problem at all

Do not put copper in your display. I would start adding garlic to the food and feeding a little more heavy. this will usually strengthen the fish and they will pull through. If you want to medicate do so in a separate QT.

I am using the BRS system with an Aqualifter on my sump and in my garage for my Ro/Di I bought a float switch from an A/C supply and a solenoid valve from AutoTopOff.com

AutoTopOff is a good choice. BRS has an inexpensive 1 also. Another option would be going to a A/C supply house and buying 1 or 2 floats for about $9 each. You can easily wire them in to an extension cord or the cord for the pump. You can also use a bucket an some soft airline with a knot in it to control the flow rate (only let it drip slowly) and work off of a syphon. This could be done for a couple bucks.
