    New to Austin

Welcome to Austin, you will be in a beautiful part of the city. River City and Aquadome have the best prices. Aquadome has more variety of species on hand. River City tends to sell unique pieces much faster. Jake at River City can order you pretty much fish though.
  2. Matching cherry colored Oceanic tank, stand, and light. I also have the glass top for this tank. This has a few minor scratches, they are pretty low, and are covered by the sand bed. No leaks. Asking $350.
  3. I'm not sure what the disocunt equates to, but I'm interested in getting a Jar of Reef Chili Coral Food. I heard it is like reef roids. Just as an example the base is $12.99 bulk is $9.99 That is about 25% off (on this product) not to shabby of a percentage.
  4. I was wondering if they offered a discount and found this on their site regarding group buys: Group and Club Buys ***NEW*** Group Buy is now available any time and as many times as your club would like to utilize it. This promotion is designed to maximize the discounts and remove all of the organizational hassle that normally goes along with a group buy. All you need is 10 people who want to buy at least one item from us at drastically discounted prices. Here is how it works: For one week we upgrade every member of your club who signs up and creates an account with special "Club Wholesale" status. This gives them individual access to the maximum quantity discounts without quantity requirements on all of our bulk material as well as considerable discounts on much of our product line. Each member of the club handles their own order individually. There is no need to organize the order, schedule a pickup/distribution day, or collect payments. If that isn't enough we offer one more exciting perk: All club members who participate in the group buy will have their accounts upgraded to "Preferred Reefer" status giving them a smaller but permanent discount. The only requirement to be eligible for this Introductory Reef Club offer is that a minimum of 15 club members sign up. If you are interested in setting up a group buy with us please contact Andrew to get you started [email protected] ***Please note that with some items we are obligated to honor manufactures pricing guidelines. All of these products are already set at the minimum price allowed by the manufacture and we cannot lower them any further.***
  5. You can get a new 32 gal with lid for 9 bucks at Walmart.
  6. I have 4 hammer corals from $10-$20 for sale. I'm up in Wells Branch and I am home most of the time during the day.
  7. I don't mind picking them up for you either, if I am closer to you.
  8. She is located in San Antonio. I got a message from her last night stating that once there are enough orders she will deliver the to Princer's home. zoaholic chic, I would like a Black Cherry and Purple Hearted, possibly a couple more.
  9. In a tank that small you are going to be somewhat limited. I believe the main families you should look at are tangs, rabbitfish (tank might be to small), angel fish (tank might be to small), and algae eating blennies. Probably only go with one tang, one angle fish, one rabbit fish, and a blenny or two. You have to do some research as I don't think the rabbitfish or many angel fish (look into dwarf angels) can reside in a tank that small.
  10. Pics with the magnetic holders. They are the algae free Sure Grip 100.
  11. These are some pics of just the powerhead. I have a quarter in the pics for size reference.
  12. I like a frag of the Palmers Blue Millipora please .
  13. Welcome to ARC. Everyone here is friendly and going to people's houses is one of the best ways to learn when you are new. The fuge (refugium) mod is super easy. If you look at your tank from the top (without a hood on it) you should see 3 chambers on the back. The middle chamber is where you want to put your algae (cheato is the most common type to use). In order to keep it alive you need to remove part of the backing so you can shine a light into the middle chamber. The backing is just a thin piece of vinyl that can be removed by scoring it with a razor blade and peeling off the part where the algae will be. You can pick up a cheap light fixture from home depot or lowes (you can find a clip on for about $6-10). Ideas on how to run the light on the fuge vary. Some people like to run it at the opposite time as the main lights some like to run the fuge light 24/7.
  14. Dave, I'm assuming your controller turns your chiller on and off, so you are worried about the tank getting to warm. Is my assumption correct? If so, there are a number of things you could do to keep the temp down for a little while.
  15. Yeah...I knew that . Sorry missed the text above the pic.
  16. Free shipping is the only way to go.
  17. Yeah, I have one fish in the 24g, and 6 in the 75g. Looking to get 2 or more, depending upon how fast the 75 adapts to the 2 new fish.
  18. I found this site that seems to have good deals on livestock. They carry a good variety of fish. They also have corals, clams, and other livestock. There is free shipping for orders over $350. I'm not sure if they offer a discount for large orders, but I can find out if there is enough interest. They families of fish they carry are: Angels (dwarf and large), Anthais, Basslets, Batfish, Blennys, Boxfish/Trunkfish, Butterfly, Cardinal, Clowns, Damsels, Dragonettes, Eels, filefish, Frogfish and Anglers, Goatfish, Gobies, Groupers, Grunts/Sweetlips, Hawkfish, Hogfish, Lionfish, Miscellaneous, Parrot Fish, Pipefish, Psedocromis/Dottybacks, Puffers, Rabbitfish, Rays, Scorpions, Seahorses, Sharks, snappers, squirrel fish, tangs, triggers, and wrasses. If you are interested post a reply here.
