  2. It was good to meet you too. I'm sure this coral will be one of the best in my tank. It already looks awesome.
  3. Yes, I am John . Thanks for the frag today it is doing great in the tank.
  4. You mentioned you also have live rock you are selling. Does this mean you are parting out your system or just have extra rock somewhere? I'm not looking for a full system but am interested in some corals
  5. I wanted to see if anyone has or has had a frag/grow out tank in their garage. What are your experiences? I've thought about this before and the main drawback I can think of is the temperature. Has this been an a big issue (heaters/chillers/extra electric bill)? When I first got into this hobby I went to a guys house who had some in his garage. I only slightly thought about the heaters and chillers back then and didn't ask a lot of questions.
  6. Would new items qualify for a discount or free shipping?
  7. I found turning off the powerhead works well too. When the powerhead is on, the it can pull the anemone in if it is moving or to close. You might want to think about moving the powerhead far enough away where it won't be a problem in the future.
  8. Sorry, but I'm going to have to back out of the acan frag party .
  9. Anyone interested in buying the acans together and fragging it?
  10. Jake at River City is very helpful.
  11. I'm good with pretty much any date. Just let me know a few days in advance. I need to make sure I have a lid of some sort for the fish as he is a jumper .
  12. Hi Mark, I would like 1 McCoskeri Fairy Wrasse $22.99 before the discount $20.69 after discount. I would prefer a male if possible (they look cooler than the females ). I'll PM my pp address. John

    Hi There!

Welcome!!! I suggest getting a timer for your lights. A basic one is about $5 and are a great convenience for not having to manually work the lights. The more you can automate in this hobby the more you can just enjoy your tank .
  14. I think it does, but I will confirm this with my girlfriend as I don't have the best eye for color . Unfortunately I don't have the best bulb in the tank right now. If you look carefully you can see the sand bed has no tint to it. I'm attaching a pic of the nem in a different tank with better lighting.
  15. Looking to sell a Rose Bubble Tip Anemone (RBTA). Approximately 4 inches across. Asking $80. The anemone for sale is a clone of the one in the picture. My clowns like to go back and forth and were in this one when I was taking pictures.
  16. Thought some of you might get a kick out of this. http://store.glennz.com/clownfish.html
  17. If you never made it to tate1's house of corals, these lights work great. They grow coral like crazy.

  20. Daniel, Just to clear up any confusion, I believe Pat is referring to a GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter). They are outlets typically found around water areas like kitchens and baths. Pat has some great advise here. Something every reefer must have is a GFCI outlet to protect humans, fish, corals, and all those other critters. You can literally loose an entire tank or worse without them. I've seen two posts, just this year, on ARC where people have come home to almost everything being dead. Make sure to read the directions carefully before installing. Follow them exactly and you should have no problems. They are cheap, about $10 at Walmart, Home Depot, Lowes... and take about 10 min to install. John
  21. Pat, Are you keeping a log/journal? As you live in Austin, I think they would be pertinent to those of us on this site who might want to try it. I know I'd be interested to see your findings with your outside tank experiments.
