  1. Also, freshly cut/mounted frags sometimes bleach-out suddenly.
  2. Funny how most CL ads that say "huge" or "big" or "show" aquarium usually ends-up being some <40g tank sitting on a rusty, metal stand.

  5. Why doesn't ARC ever have a raffle for a major prize, like a huge tank or high-end piece of equipment?

In that scenario, just refund the $50 and cancel the raffle, no?

Or maybe you missed them? Prof gave away a 75g tank, stand, sump, and pump as a raffle prize in the past. Just sayin, cause it happened.

  6. Oh, yeah, one of my RBTA's split....and then there were 3.

  7. The short answer is "no", but that really depends on several other things: How often do you plan on doing water-changes? Is the tank filled with base-rock, newly cycled live-rock, or old live-rock? How tightly packed will the rock be, i.e., will there be good flow or can detritus build-up? How much do you plan on feeding? What kinds of food do you plan on feeding? What kind of sand will you use for the sandbed? How deep will the sandbed be? These will all contribute to nitrate/phosphate levels....it's just a matter of how much (without a skimmer).
  8. I know it's ignorant of me, but I hate it when people display their tank dimensions in metric units....too lazy to do the conversion.

  10. Cute, but these will eventually end-up in a box in the attic/basement right next to the old "Big Mouth Billy Bass". You remember those, right?
  11. BTAs that are hosted by clownfish do receive a steady supply of "marine snow".
  12. How long have they been in the tank?

  15. BRS dosers connected to an Apex controller. I just left my tank unattended for 19 days and came back to find no problems. Alk is between 8-9 and Calcium is between 400-420.
  16. I dose BRS Soda Ash for Alkalinity and Seachem's Reef Complete for Calcium & Magnesium.
  17. After 19 days on vacation, I just came home to a thriving reef tank.....Apex rules!

  18. Yeah, definitely do not touch it....nasty sting.
  19. Looks like a fireworm....detritus-eater. People used to try and eradicate them, now they're viewed as beneficial.
  20. One of the Heniochus species is supposed to be reef-safe.
  21. I listed lots of nice equipment for sale in the 'Hardware' forum.
