  1. Thoughts of joining my 135g & 240g through a shared sump, dancing through my head.

I'd want to keep the 135g as a predominantly SPS tank. The 240g could be anything from a FOWLR to a "themed" tank.

How cool would a 240g Anemone tank look? :)

  2. Thanks again, Mike, but I was really just interested in that larger colony. Good luck with the sale.
  3. I'll take it. Sending PM.

Did his tank start to look like he "dumped it out of a bucket" again?

I don't think he got out of the hobby. He left our forum because he didn't like the way things were run around here. :|

      He's still in the hobby.

  7. By the way, what makes Jack technically "Fat"? Is it the 24" side-to-side, the 24" front-to-back, or a combination of the two? And if Jack's fat at 24x24x24, then what would the 48x24x24 120g be called?
  8. I also appreciate the effort going into this experiment, but quite honestly, you can get significantly different growth rates on the same SPS colony in one tank. I think the best you can hope for in this experiment is to show that you can get respectable growth rates under LEDs with lower heat and energy consumption.
  9. Updated 135g pics in my "Reef Keeping" bulb thread.

  10. Just rinse and dry.
  11. I'd soak them in a 5g bucket with a capful or two of bleach.

    Question!!

+1. I had one in my 75g. Only saw it twice in 2.5 years.
  13. Is that supposed to be an embedded video on your blog?
  14. You definitely don't want to move Aiptasia into your display tank. They can reproduce rapidly and quickly get out of control.
  15. They should pass a law requiring all online coral sales be WYSIWYG.

  16. I've always been of the opinion that they provide some benefit, but they're not worth the expense or effort.
  17. Apparently, in every other reef forum, up is really down, black is really white, hot is really cold, etc....ughh. If we only had so many experts working on the US economy.

Seems like it really doesn't matter what the topic is or what your opinion is....if you comment, it's like spitting into the wind.

  19. No bulbs to offer you, but this is what two 72" VHO 454's look like on a 6' tank:
  20. I can't recommend Black Margarita Snails enough for GHA (I can't speak to their effect on Cyano or Bryopsis). I set-up my tank with recycled dead rock and had a major GHA outbreak at about the 6-week mark. I added just 6 BMS (to a 135g tank) and less than a month later....poof, all gone.
  21. Click the "Insert Media" icon from the menu bar.
  22. Check-out Bulk Reef Supply's Alk/Ca dosing supplements. Easy to mix solutions and much cheaper than B-Ionic.
  23. Tank dimensions are really important factors. Also, tank inhabitants.
  24. The Steelers losing was more satisfying than a Snickers bar.
