  1. I've never run a calcium reactor, but during Precision Marine's calcium reactor presentation at RCA a couple of months ago, I believe they said to run it at no more than 10psi.
  2. Boy, BRS sells some quality stuff. Lifereef too.

  3. 3 UPS boxes arriving all at once.....ho-ho-ho!

  4. What's the etiquette regarding the number of "bumps" or "ttt's" allowed before one should lower their asking price? ;)

I think it depends on how fast you want to sell an item.

I'm talking from a reader's perspective. Some guy's been trying to sell the same darn skimmer on RC for months without a price decrease.....hello?

if you put a christmas tree in your tank, I'm gonna be upset

  8. You might want to check-out the Vertex MOcean. It's basically a re-designed version of the Sea Swirl (which had leaking issues). They can rotate up to 360 degrees. Comes in a 2000gph and 3500gph version, meaning these can handle up to 2000/3500 gph flow from a return pump, respectively.
  9. I agree with Hydro that his response was excessive, but people need to stop using these forums for their own vindictive purposes. Geez, he didn't answer your second e-mail, so you want to try and ruin his business? This is why companies are starting to sue people who resort to libelous, forum-bashing.
  10. Jake from RCA is selling used 110g tanks (72x18x20) at great prices: Going Lean to Save You $Green$
  11. Waiting for the Black Friday online sales....tick-tick-tick-tick.

  13. Don't most Reef Junkies get bigger tanks? Congrats. What are your livestock plans for this tank?
  14. Nobody "gets out" of this hobby....you're just in-between tanks.

  15. I searched high and low for a good roofer last summer. One roofer actually drove by my house and never got out of his truck. I later called him to find out what happened and he said my roof would take too much time. Several people on my street regretted going with the storm-chaser that made off like a bandit. I decided to go with my realtor's recommendation and I was completely satisfied: Craft Roofing (ask for Tommy, great guy).
  16. FYI, those reflectors can be used with most all bulbs (accommodates all lamp sizes except BT-56 1,000W). It's the ballast that will determine which bulb you run.
  17. What's with all the ARC "Internal Error" codes lately?

  19. I can't stop buying AAF Blue/Purple Hammer.

  20. I vaguely remember reading that the 420's are better for the photosynthesis process zooxanthellae use to produce their food, but I can't confirm that.
  21. 1) It's $180 with shipping. 2) It's made in China, takes 2-3 weeks to deliver, and it has a 30-day warranty. Can you imagine the time/money/effort that you'd waste if the pump stops working in a week? By contrast, I bought a used Tunze wavebox with a defective pump. Walked into Tunze and he replaced it with a new one because the original was still under warranty....no questions asked.
  22. VorTech thread.... http://www.austinreefclub.com/topic/13755-vortechs/page__p__95752__fromsearch__1#entry95752
  23. Those dinky little suction cups just scream "this thing was made on the cheap". A used Tunze wavebox will cost about 50% off the new price and will probably last 10x longer.
