    New bulbs

I cut my 10 hour main photo period down to 4 hours, and plan on increasing 30-60 minutes per week.
  2. Left looks like a regular old Blue Damsel, right look like hmm, was going to say Yellow Tail, but not exactly. Just put them all into the "mean" category
  3. <sneaks in late> Happy belated birthday!
  4. Can we expect 70MP images for the next tank of the quarter?
  5. Contact who runs Rock'n Reefs. She normally has some in stock.
  6. Mine is still going strong from a Vivid group buy. As Mark said, I think the key is a very, very, very, very, very (very!) slow acclimation period.
  7. The other thing to know is there are DE (double end) and single ended bulbs.
  8. Very glad to have folks out. Carol really enjoyed meeting you guys. She said the only time she got bored was when we were talking tank hardware
  9. I have ordered from sealife multiple times in the past. They sell really good stuff, and you generally get a lot more than you purchase. (well non-fish at least:)) I have been very pleased with them. A few notes on the zoas/ricordias. Sometimes they ship them loose or attched to sand, so you might have to remount them. And blue zoas. I have never had good luck with them. They do great for maybe six months, then just melt away. This is not a sealife specific issue, as I have had this happen with other vendors. Just a heads up.
  10. My vote would be to name them Bob.
  11. +1 for the Aiptasia-X. Normally peppermints worked for me. But I had an angel that would bully them, so they just hid most of the time.
  12. Probably wouldn't hurt. But as innate said, sometimes zoas just melt. Most people think zoas to be one of the hardiest corals. But I have found it just depends on the colony/type. I have some that have been through heck and back, and are currently flourishing. Others melted shortly after being added to the tank.
  13. Heh.. love the German approach
  14. Still could be the lighting. Changing lighting is always going to upset some of the corals, as they had gotten used to a specific spectrum of light. Have you had the AOG zoas longer than the others? I scorched half of my tank when adding new bulbs and not adjusting the light cycle down enough. The older the corals I had, the general worse they got punished. Some of the newer stuff I got at the frag swap went through unphased.
  15. Gone (Sorry mhart, about a week late ).
  16. Can not wake up today...

  17. Me? AAF is north of Austin, I am south of Austin. Google say 1 hour from my house
  18. Very much understood. Rest up! I am good on chairs/tables (doesn't look to be a blockbuster crowd due to end of summer . I was going to provide some iced tea, cookies, and some bread/dip. You are more than welcome to bring more if you want.
  19. Added my cell number in case anyone gets lost Saturday
  20. Cleaned the tank up for the meeting.. no floods this time! :)

  21. To carry on the tradition of good eats, I am making fresh rosemary & garlic focaccai bread, along with some mint sugar cookies.
  22. I agree with Derry on the fish being able to out compete the ponies for the food. Another concern, which might not be valid, is the acros. Are they safe for seahorse to hitch on to? I guess they probably do not have strong enough stingers to penetrate the seahorse's skin, but just a curiosity on my part.
  23. Probably the best to buy new, especially if you are using it for backup. Last time I got an external drive, it was $100 from NewEgg for a 1TB one.
