  1. Looking really good. I'm digging your LPS
  2. Big thanks to JeeperTy for coming to spend time with me today by offering his advice on my GHA issue. Really good guy and an asset to our little community! Thanks again, buddy!

Hey, anytime Caleb. The lure of 2-cycle engine advice and an excuse to talk tanks is more than enough for me to go just about anywhere. I can't wait for your system to be up and running perfect again so you can get back to enjoying your tank.

  3. Wifey is out of town for the weekend... Where's the party at??

I'm too broke for an LFS party. Plus my life would end if she came home after an LFS party.

  4. For me, personally, water changes are a necessity. The water out here in buda is disgusting, plus by my doing 10% changes weekly, it keeps my alk, calcium, and pH consistent enough to where I have been able to quit dosing. Also, I have no filtration other than Live Rock, plenty of water movement, and a HOB skimmer. My cousin, on the other hand, hasn't done a water change on his 125 in two years and his tank is gorgeous.
  5. I have literally had to start hiding my Mag Float. My friends come over and immediately ask where the "magnet thing" is and if they can "play" with it

It's all good until that single piece of gravel is stuck between the scrubber and the glass, arggg!

Physically, my age which is 23. But as Richard surmised, mentally they about 8.

  6. Definitely looks like a sweet build, and I love that rockwork layout. I'm very interested in this LED build that you referred to. Keep us updated, and good luck!
  7. I had a dream last night that my tank literally exploded. I woke up excited to go get a tank 3x the size of my current one. Is that wrong?

  8. First job interview in nearly four years today. Would be a 70% pay increase from my current job! Bad news is that its just down the street from RCA... Wifey won't be happy

Good luck with the interview, but I used to make that drive from Cedar Park to south Austin. Man I hated that commute

haha...good luck bro! More money for you means more money for me...lol!

  9. My vote is that it be labeled "Want to sell/trade". Otherwise, I think this issue will continue to come up, especially with future members. But that's just me
  10. Pretty sweet. What are the dimensions on that tank? Assuming you keep the Morays, are you gonna go FOWLR or reef? Did you have a stock list in mind? What about lighting? Sorry for all the questions, but I was wanting to do something similar by my front door ( my wife just wants a table with a lamp on it, I say a new tank will provide the light she wants )
  11. Why is it that you don't want your Mag-Float to touch the silicone?

You want to protect that silicone as much as possible, so rubbing that abrasive Mag-Float over it is not good long-term.

Ohhh... Okay. I didn't even think of the abrasive side. Total brain fart. Thanks Pat

  12. Water change day. Can't believe the difference in water clarity that my HOB skimmer has made in just four days! Now, to just get rid of the GHA

  13. I might have interest in this. Can you post pics? Details on lights? Or is it just the standard 29g Biocube?
  14. From my own experience, if the fish is not eating ESPECIALLY after being soaked in garlic, it really isn't a good sign. Keep trying it though and you may even want to pick up some pure Vitamin C liquid and soak the food in that, as well. The garlic entices the fish to eat and the vitamin c will help boost the immune system. And Mr Cob is right - no point in doing copper treatment if she's just going back into the display tank.
  15. Not sure if its just the pictures, but that looks like something other than ich. How is she eating?
  16. I think they'd be okay with clowns. I was planning on a biocube with nem, clowns, and sexy shrimp for my wife's birthday. So I would HOPE they'd be okay, haha. But don't take my word for it. Good luck!
  17. I would THINK they'd be okay. What else is in the 29?
  18. I thought di was bad for you to drink. I hope you have your drinking water coming out before it goes through the di resin. I've never heard that before. I've been doing it since March so I sure hope that's not true!
  19. My wife refuses to do anything without me or let me do anything without her, so she's usually aware of when a purchase is made. Although, if she's at work and its one of my school days, i might possibly be guilty of sneaking in new frags. I'm definitely the money conscious one in the family, but when it comes to the tank I'm a different person.
  20. If a saltwater tank is something you feel commited to and plan on being involved in for some time, your own RO/DI unit will be invaluable. I had one installed when I bought my house in March for my own consumption. Once I decided to start a tank a month later, it made the purchase even better. Especially because I only have one LFS near me and I'm as lazy as it comes when it comes to leaving my house.
  21. Man, you're lucky. I'm too nervous about trying it.
  22. It's going to depend on which one you want. I had a Kole Tang in my 60 for a few months and just recently lost him to an internal parasite. He was constantly sick with something. I just replaced him with a small Yellow Tang on Saturday and she seems very happy and healthy. I think my 60 will be too small for her once she is full-grown, but I plan on upgrading in about a year anyways. I would imagine you could get away with a Kole or Tomini Tang in your 50, but not much else.
  23. Personally, I would be too cautious to have two tangs in a tank that size. Chances are they wouldn't get along
  24. I need a wider tank. 13 inches isn't working out for me...

  25. All parts are there. I have no idea what the issue is. I have taken it apart and reassembled it 3 times with the same result. My wife wasn't too happy with the mess that she came home to last night. I guess I'm just going to have to toss an extra powerhead in the tank and go without mechanical filtration until I can get to an LFS to see if they can identify something that I'm possibly overlooking.
