  1. Alright let me wait for my next paycheck around the 11th of the month to see if I can still afford an order. I'll post something around then when I know more, since it looks like this has started gaining more interest
  2. Why is it that you don't want your Mag-Float to touch the silicone?

You want to protect that silicone as much as possible, so rubbing that abrasive Mag-Float over it is not good long-term.

Ohhh... Okay. I didn't even think of the abrasive side. Total brain fart. Thanks Pat

  3. Sorry, Kim, but this just hasn't garnered enough interest. I ended up just getting a couple things from RCA. Definitely in another month or so I'll look into getting this going again.
  4. Sorry, man. The cost of gas has just been killing me lately.
  5. I'm looking to get the ball rolling on this thing. I don't mind being the coordinator if everyone is willing to come pick up their stuff from my house in Buda (or at the Cabela's off 35). For this to happen, though, everyone's order will need to ship on a Monday so I can be home on a Wednesday to receive it. Unfortunately, wednesdays are the only day I'll be able to stay home all day to wait for the shipment and dole out everyone's stuff. $250 is what needs to be hit for free shipping. My order is only going to be about $30 (I just priced out the stuff I want). I need to know ASAP who is down for this order and just a rough estimate of the order total you anticipate so I can contact John at Reef Cleaners. Let me know guys. Otherwise we may just have to do individual orders. I gotta get this stuff before I go out of town the week after next. PM me if need be.
  6. Water change day. Can't believe the difference in water clarity that my HOB skimmer has made in just four days! Now, to just get rid of the GHA

  7. On reefcleaners.org there is a section describing how to do a group buy. And I believe free shipping is at $250. My order will probably account for between $30-$60
  8. Awesome, looks like there's some interest. Would anyone want to take over coordination? I've never organized a group buy before
  9. I need to bolster my clean up crew. Just checking to see if there was any interest in a group buy.
  10. I might have interest in this. Can you post pics? Details on lights? Or is it just the standard 29g Biocube?
  11. I believe the last one on the right is intended for other uses, such as putting a bucket under it and filling it up with RO or SW
  12. From my own experience, if the fish is not eating ESPECIALLY after being soaked in garlic, it really isn't a good sign. Keep trying it though and you may even want to pick up some pure Vitamin C liquid and soak the food in that, as well. The garlic entices the fish to eat and the vitamin c will help boost the immune system. And Mr Cob is right - no point in doing copper treatment if she's just going back into the display tank.
  13. That's a pretty sweet looking tank, but I'm absolutely amazed by the RO/DI station that you've got going. Fantastic job by everyone involved. I can't wait to see this tank fill up and mature.
  14. Not sure if its just the pictures, but that looks like something other than ich. How is she eating?
  15. I think they'd be okay with clowns. I was planning on a biocube with nem, clowns, and sexy shrimp for my wife's birthday. So I would HOPE they'd be okay, haha. But don't take my word for it. Good luck!
  16. I would THINK they'd be okay. What else is in the 29?
  17. I thought di was bad for you to drink. I hope you have your drinking water coming out before it goes through the di resin. I've never heard that before. I've been doing it since March so I sure hope that's not true!
  18. My wife refuses to do anything without me or let me do anything without her, so she's usually aware of when a purchase is made. Although, if she's at work and its one of my school days, i might possibly be guilty of sneaking in new frags. I'm definitely the money conscious one in the family, but when it comes to the tank I'm a different person.
  19. If a saltwater tank is something you feel commited to and plan on being involved in for some time, your own RO/DI unit will be invaluable. I had one installed when I bought my house in March for my own consumption. Once I decided to start a tank a month later, it made the purchase even better. Especially because I only have one LFS near me and I'm as lazy as it comes when it comes to leaving my house.
  20. Man, you're lucky. I'm too nervous about trying it.
  21. It's going to depend on which one you want. I had a Kole Tang in my 60 for a few months and just recently lost him to an internal parasite. He was constantly sick with something. I just replaced him with a small Yellow Tang on Saturday and she seems very happy and healthy. I think my 60 will be too small for her once she is full-grown, but I plan on upgrading in about a year anyways. I would imagine you could get away with a Kole or Tomini Tang in your 50, but not much else.
  22. Personally, I would be too cautious to have two tangs in a tank that size. Chances are they wouldn't get along
  23. I need a wider tank. 13 inches isn't working out for me...

  24. All parts are there. I have no idea what the issue is. I have taken it apart and reassembled it 3 times with the same result. My wife wasn't too happy with the mess that she came home to last night. I guess I'm just going to have to toss an extra powerhead in the tank and go without mechanical filtration until I can get to an LFS to see if they can identify something that I'm possibly overlooking.
