  1. Or drop a few pcs in your sump and let them do there thing in there. i would only add a small amount at a time then transfer the stuff from the sump to the tank and add more new to the sump. If you add to much at a time it could cause a cycle. Best bet is a separate system to let it cycle in with old tank water.
  2. I hope the printed item will stand up to the heat and force produced from the pump. I duno much about it
  3. looks very cool my only concern would be programing it. I know they say its easy but I run and program a 3 axis mill basically the same thing the printer does only it starts with a chunk of metal and takes away to produce the object and its far from easy when you start after a few years and tons of scrap parts it get to where you only pull out a few wads of hair when the stupid thing does not do what you tell it lol. I would hope the programing that runs it is smart and don't let you program in incursions ie the printer head drops down into the finished product at some time because of an artifact in the drawing. I uses several programs including bobcad and solidworks for programing I did not look at what they use but if they have a demo available I would suggest trying it before you pay. The 3d software is complex and they may say its easy but they have been using it for a while and want your money.
  4. Sorry folks I was away from the internet for a while The gun was sold to a coworker.
  5. Thanks for that info Would a scrap of paper written as a receipt save my rear if the person I sold it to went out and shot 3 people then tossed it ? Or is there some form to fill out that removes me as the owner of the weapon ? Seems to easy but I have never sold one of my guns lol and I think the thought of that happening is a big part of it.
  6. I got this ruger lc9 with factory laser max laser a while back and its been in the glove box of my car for several months. I finaly got to the range to shoot it put 20 rounds through it and my hands are just to big for it. Would like to get 400 for it or possible trade for a kel tec plr-16 and I will toss in some cash. I would consider other firearms but the kel tec is the one I am looking for. On the other hand I just picked up a kel tec PRM 30 and its a flipping amazingly fun gun to shoot. I have been looking for one for 2 years now they have been from 850-1600 on gunbroker for the last 2 years and I just could not do that for a plinking gun. I happened to walk into a local shop that had just put one in there display at almost MSRP I think I drooled a bit and did not even haggle LOL. If you are interested it will need to be shipped to a ffl shop or we can meet at one. I am not sure how to sell a used gun never have or never have purchased one private party.
  7. I like the Phantom's but I would have to remove my ora true percs to get them
  8. I am also not a real fan of all in ones. Its kind of like getting a tv vcr dvd player all in one unit none of the parts are great but they can get the job done and when one of them goes down its very hard to fix.
  9. dont worry about a bigger tank. The bigger the tank the more stable it will be. I have a 110 and got rid of my biocubes because they were a pain in the rear to take care of.
  10. that really sucks how do you rid a tank of them
  11. the care on my 110 is way less than the 2 - 40ish gallon tanks I had running at the same time. In fact they were so much more work I shut them down and just have the 110 wishing it was a 300+ lol
  12. if money is not a problem then get the biggest tank that will reasonably fit in the area you are looking to put it in. In reality if you like this hobby you will go bigger the size of the room is what holds you b ack lol.
  13. it is also on ebay. fairly cheep to get the clear stuff you have to order it in bulk. And the seller on ebay will cut it to anysize you want.
  14. its a 110 and today the urchin was munching on the rest of it when i got home from work today so that leaves it at the urchin does eat starfish but was the star fish dead and he just made a meal of it. Guess I will never know becuase I am not going to feed the urchin another $20 meal so until it dies or I decide I want star fish more than the urchin no more star fish for my tank lol.
  15. I duno that urchin can move and can eat like a horse. I put a good chunk of nori under him and he woofed it down faster than my rotties put down there food.
  16. So I made an impulse buy last weekend at Aquatec. A radiant urchin fliping amazing red with glowing blue dots. Well I think it made a meal of my sand sifting star . The star has been in there a few months doing its thing and days after thr urchin was added the star was on the glass and missing 2 and 1/2 legs . I duno if the urchin ate it or if it went through my mp40s. So do urchin eat starfish ?

Not really a good story other than not getting hurt.

I had one palm on the control box of a machine and leaned over to pick up a tool and when my other palm touched a metal rack it was aparent that the ground cable to the machine had failed and I became the ground. It caused me to convolse and that pulled my hands away braking the connection. Both arms and my sholders feel like I did a 30 day workout in about 10 min. Im not sure how much of a charge I got becuase the cable was st...

      +1 to offroadodge

110 is more dangerous because of the muscle freeze-ups.

However, 440+ can cause instant vaporizing of body fluids and tissue which is really bad.

Either way, electricity is way more dangerous than people give it credit for. Glad to hear you're ok.

  18. Anyone try D3 ? I was hooked on D1 and D2 :)

I wanted too, but the performance on macs is questionable right now, hopefully they release a patch, but mac users are getting terrible frame rates despite hardware specs

  20. just so you know right below the for sale section there is a WTB section
  21. you do know that corals use alk to grow right they can use several DKH a day. Thats one of the reasons you need to add more to the tank its a good thing. there are calculators out there to show how much buffer to use to raise it and you may have to do that daily or get pumps to dose it for you one of the joys of a growing tank.
  22. Oh ya how many people knew they were talking about Shane before they posted the store name LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  23. I think what Shane was saying about sand is that crushed coral is a better substrate for your tank, When I was starting thats what he pushed on me. If I recall right it was something about the sand beds will solidify into a large solid brick where with crushed coral you can just use a stick to stir it up weekly and keep the "crud" suspended and let your filtration do its work. I kind of thought well if you can stir crushed coral why not sand but I just smiled and said thanks for the info. He does have a wealth of info but its kind of like what my dad says take in what everyone says and use the good info and toss the rest . And he is right about the internet in general you can basicly find strong cases for both sides of any argument. And alot of info out there is YEARS old and not the only way to do things anymore. Anyways I still have a sand bed and all my criters like it. Also you don't get to have cool sand sifters if you dont have sand
