Not really a good story other than not getting hurt.

I had one palm on the control box of a machine and leaned over to pick up a tool and when my other palm touched a metal rack it was aparent that the ground cable to the machine had failed and I became the ground. It caused me to convolse and that pulled my hands away braking the connection. Both arms and my sholders feel like I did a 30 day workout in about 10 min. Im not sure how much of a charge I got becuase the cable was st...

      +1 to offroadodge

110 is more dangerous because of the muscle freeze-ups.

However, 440+ can cause instant vaporizing of body fluids and tissue which is really bad.

Either way, electricity is way more dangerous than people give it credit for. Glad to hear you're ok.

  2. Anyone try D3 ? I was hooked on D1 and D2 :)

I wanted too, but the performance on macs is questionable right now, hopefully they release a patch, but mac users are getting terrible frame rates despite hardware specs

  3. Ya I brush my teeth regularly
  4. The water level of the tank is within 1/4 in in the 60 in length of the tank . So the tank is fairly level The high over flow is on the right.I raised the left side of the pipe that crosses the sump an inch and slowed the return a bit and its back to level I'm going to raise the flow back up in the am when I can keep an eye on it I had the sledge out but decided to try it next if the flow don't work
  5. I have an over flow box on each end of the tank with a 1" durso pipe leading to a 3/4 bulkhead drain in the bottom. The 3/4 drains lead to a 1"1/4 pvc pipe that spans accross my sump to join both 3/4 drains . Each end of the 1 1/4 pipe has a 1 1/4 down spout one side dumps into my skimmer the other side SLOWLY drains to my sump. recently one over flow has been filling to the waterline of the tank and the other is still 2-3" from the water line any Ideas why ? and how to fix the problem. I just tried moving 1 end of the 1 1/4 pipe about an inch to see if mabey air is trapped in there after a few hours I am going to lower it back down and lift the other side to see if it changes anything.
  6. well if it has a fuge why not use that to hook the reactors to ? the only thing you might run into with a phosphate reacor on a small tank would be stripping to much out for coral to survive.
  7. you can also place the 90 in the tank pointed up like Kevin said but on the part sticking up cut 1/8-3/16 grooves in it and it will act as a serface skimmer too. but with the bulkhead only 1" from the top you may not have room for the 90. next one you might want to drill lower so you can put a riser on the 90 with the grooves in it and that way you can set the hight of the water in the tank with the lenght of the pc going up

    Sand

it will not hurt anything but anytime you add a lot of stuff to the tank you risk a diatom bloom. They are not as bad as algae over time they go away all you need to do is clean the glass for a week ot so.
  9. AquaJohn

    Sand

and if you use a pvc pipe as a slide to get it to the bottom of the tank you willnot get as much sand storm as if you just dump it in I would say dump about 1/3 the amount you want in there at a time a week or so apart.
  10. Thanks Dena its all hooked up in my exra bathtub looks to be working like new. at least with fresh water and vinager. I am glad its going in the garage with my sump with those 3 pumps running its a bit loud.
  11. I would love to get you some but I have never seen any after adding them to the tank several months ago.
  12. You need more than 1 they win the fight by out reproducing the aptasia the more you start with the faster they win. I added 10 to my 100 gal display and 4-5 months latter was hard pressed to find any aptasia in the display. I litteraly had multiple hundreds of them in there. I have yet to see any of the nudi's after adding them so they must still be munching on something.
  13. If they are in your overflows and sump they will be in your display too. For the overflows I usualy just take out the durso pipes and leave them dry for a week and any snots stuck to the bottom are hit with the laser. I used to use aptaisa X but it seems to be like food to them now. As far as the sump I have taken it all apart and scrubbed everything with vinegar/water. I even had them in my skimmer lol. I will not say they are eradicated yet but I have not seen any in at least a week after adding the nudis several months ago. I also kept 20 peperment shrimp in my refuge altho when I cleaned it I could only find 5 and there are no preditors in there.
  14. WOW!!! If Mr Cob did not take all my lunch money I would be all over this lol. Those utter chaos are flippin amazing
  15. Just send a pm to me before you list the item to see if I want it then post away. I would say as a buyer your best bet to get picked for the item is to include in your reply that you will send paypal payment as soon as you get the sellers PP address. Do not expect to be first in line just because you happen to be the first to post in the thread alot of people send a PM first then post to the open forum if they post at all.
  16. And Austin Aqua farms has an open house Sat from 1-4 and they usualy have a ton of acans zoa's and also some hard corals.
  17. well LSO is almost by 10:30 LoL. I would also recomend Mr.Cobs Corals you can find him in the sponsor section or click the link in the above post.

  19. well no more leak in the reactor I also flexed the cracked acrylic and it broke next to the crack so I guess it works well I have not used weldon 16 so cant compare but the craftics #33 sold at regal plastic gets an A form me at least short term. It is clear and smooth when dry and I just gooped it over the leak.
  20. its rock hard now.lets hope it holds water lol when I get a shot to try it.
  21. as far as the 25 bucks I got some weldon 4 an aplicator and a pc of 1/4 black so the total was 25.98 but they did have signs all over the place saying there was a minimum. From there attitude I would bet they do not enforce it unless you are a jackass.
  22. It was about like super glue gel and did not wick out alot. I put it on about 15-20 min ago and its still soft. It says to let it cure 24 hours. Im not sure when I will get the carbon back on line might be Monday. I also had a cracked junk pc of 3/16 acrylic that I squirted some on to see how well it would fill a gap. it did not travel far when I stopped short of the edge of the sheet I figured it would wick out but it probly did not move more than 1/8 past where I stopped.
  23. thanks for the tips Im going to austin today anyways so may as well get the good stuff for the next time
