  1. Kalk. There was no spot to vote for kalk paste. Has NEVER failed me. If'n you want I can come by Thurs or Fri evening to help you kill them off and show you the procedure. I generally aim for 3 doses. Each dose kills whatever it touches but I don't like that much Kalk sitting in a tnak if it is a large infestation. I have 4 1/2 gallons of Kalk powder so I promise we will win.
  2. Anyone want to help clean my garage? I'll buy a cooler full of Monster sodas.

      I don't get to go to Mike's house...I don't speak spanish so I wouldn't fit in...

  3. I'll take the Leng Si. Will you be around Monday after 4:00? It's only a 3 minute ride from my place.
  4. Chrissie probably dropped off Evil Crab when you weren't home.
  5. Pods=copepods or amphipods etc.. Very small crustaceans, like shrimp, that clean our tnaks or feed our fish. Almost every salt tnak will have them. They come with our live rock. They find a way to reproduce and will be all over your tnak. People that keep mandarins understand that most mandarins will only eat "pods" from your tnak. planaria = flatworms. Some are ok, some are real bad news.

you missed a fun night in the chat room mike. The joke was on you... Or was it your ear??

  8. Thought that a Doctor out there had paid Kingfish to install 3 large salt water aquariums over there before they opened. Maybe they decided salt was to much work? Wanna say his screen was mojo but that might be Fishy's buddy.
  9. Might you want to trade for another Yuma? It is a purple bubble with bright pink disc.
  10. I thank you misunderstand what I was asking. What made him choose a 75 gal instead of a 90 gal for the display tank? Nope I 100% fully understood your question. But as I said, why not fill in the entire space. Heck you could've asked him why not a 110 or 120 as they have almost the same foot print as a 55, 75, or 90. I just went straight for the throat and asked him why he didn't fill in that giant hole?
  11. Look at all that space surrounding the tnak. His tnak measures 48x18. That space is 72x24.
  12. Uh better question, what made you decide to go with a 90g instead of a 150?
  13. Callahan where's my junk?

Keep your thoughts to your self Mark.

  14. Plus the way you plumb in your return can also determine how far your tnak drains back. I like to use a rule of 4" x tnak length x tnak width for figuring out how much extra room my sump should have in reserve. The 4" is the maximum amount of return that you could expect in an emergency situation. Generally it should be limited to about 1-2" but I like using 4" just in case.
  15. I'd like the blastos and the plum crazy. It would be Tuesday evening before I could ride out to Bastrop. PM me if that is acceptable or to make other arrangements.
  16. I stayed totally calm and read a book. Power is now back on. How uneventful. On a side note. Absolutely nothing in my tank perished. Nothing looks stressed. My plan of not worrying has paid off yet again.
  17. 1st hour done. Wonder how long. If you haven't heard yet, a power substation exploded and has most, if not all, of round rock without electricity. Prolly gonna be awhile
  18. Yeah they were the ones with the clowns in it. Every time he'd pick one up, it would just break up into pieces. It wasn't like they were dead either. So yours are healthy and living. Have you ever seen one jet black? I really like that last pic and kinda want one now.
  19. I'm shocked you were able to keep the Hellsfire. I was attempting to purchase a solid black one once and when the lfs employee picked it up, it suddenly separated into a mess of nem. He tried picking up others and they all just broke up into pieces. Where are your carnation anemones? I haven't seen anyone try to keep any. I got one in SA once but after about 3 weeks it decided it wanted to live in my powerhead.
  20. Done. Some of us have already done this. I'd say about 5 years back is when folks seriously started cutting nems. Works with many of them, not just RBTA. Also works very well with any type of mushroom, including Ricordia and Yumas. In fact you don't just have to cut them in half. It has been shown that you can cut them as many as 8 times, like a pizza, so long as every piece has a little bit of the mouth in the cut. I've cut 2 nems so far and I've cut about 6 ricordia into 6 pieces each and watched them all heal.
  21. ooza is lamed any and every time he logs in or out, its the rules

  22. I've heard a lot of folks buy it online for a reasonable amount. I paid a lot more than I expected from Binswanger years ago for 1/8"x6"x12". I think they asked around $70 for both pieces. I had the Missus order them and pick them up so I still wonder if they overcharged her. Hello Lights sells some nice DE pendants for like $30.
  23. NO! Sorry. Yeah it's kind of a big deal. You will also need to order your glass from a dealer and make sure it comes as tempered. The tempering is done in Houston and takes about 2-5 days to receive.
