  1. Never mind... figured it out... finally turned up a PDF of the owner's manual online.

Yeah, the Solana disco ball seems a bit intimidating at first, but you just pull the rim off with a screwdriver and voila, light bulb access. How is temperature on your tank? The 150mh is literally baking things if I leave it on for more than a few hours at a time, and this is with a strong fan blowing whenever the light is on.

  2. Check out evolutionled.com

Thats where I got my setup and I'm about to pick up one of their 14k spotlight bulbs for my frag tank this week. Can't beat the $60 price tag

That doesn't look like a store website to me, it says"The domain evolutionled.com may be for sale by its owner!" Can you verify the URL?

  3. Mine definitely isn't microbubbles. My last several water changes have been with premixed H20 from the Aqua-Dome, not sure what kind it is, but it the particulate matter is persistent enough I'm not going to blame the salt.

  4. I talked to Jake at River City Aquatics today (http://www.austinree...-city-aquatics/), and we're working out the details to setup a quarterly salt group buy. The first order will arrive in March, subsequent ones to follow in June, September, and December. A regular group buy should let you plan ahead to cover your salt needs.

As stated before, Jake has to order salt by the pallet to get the price breaks that we're looking for. In the next few days we'll be posting brands and prices. In order for the order to make for each brand we'll need commitments that total a full pallet. I believe a pallet is 20 buckets.

Any particular salts you're looking for?

  5. If the meeting is not at a sponsor's location feel free to bring frags. I'm bringing them just to share with other reefers, no charge. We will also have some more exotic frags being passed out as door prizes, as well as a Premium Membership (or credit towards Pro/Sponsor). Some people also bring frags to sell, but the shouldn't interfere with the meeting topic. It's also a great place to meet to pick up/deliver frags bought and sold on the club.

  6. Thanks for sharing Patrick. Just like dealing with an illness there are stages one goes through after a divorce, career change, or other life altering event. I went through the same stages as you after my divorce. I wouldn't be who and where I am today without having gone through it though. With a new wife and stepson all I can tell you is that life goes on and can be good again, but sounds like you had a taste of that this morning.

  7. If you'd like to have more products available, and/or don't want to deal with the printing/shipping, you could always open a Zazzle store: www.zazzle.com (it's free!)

I run some zazzle stores myself and it's really easy. Let me know if you'd like help setting up... heck I can set one up for you if you'd like (on your account so you'd make any royalties.) Feel free to PM me. wink.png

Thanks, I'd looked at them but for now we have a few great members who offer such services, so I'd rather keep the business local. That said, I'm going to add the above products to the store. I'll keep some items on hand when it makes sense to do so, but for most there will be a max 2 week turnaround if you order something. As noted above, if you can think of something you want that isn't offered let me know and I'll do my best to add it to the store.

  8. Hey gang,

I've had several people express interest in ARC merchandise sporting our new logo. I think it's a great way to promote the club and want to know what the rest of you think. These would not be money-makers, I'd be offering them for near cost. Sound off if you would like any of the following (or let me know if there is something you would like that you don't see):

Costs would run about $9 for a tote, $10 per shirt, and $5 for a mousepad unless they are ordered in significant quantities.

We would also be offering these items up as door prizes at meetings, so let us know what you like and don't like.

  9. In my 90g I always have particulate matter floating around, it drives me nuts. I've got a filter on my return pump and none of my powerheads point at the sand. I have no clue what it is, but I understand your frustration.
