You can participate in their discussion and ask questions on their ARC forum here or their own forum here. Be sure to watch for monthly specials and sales.

  2. Please note the following updates at the top of this thread:

The price on ARC SeaWorld t-shirts is $18, and is the dri-fit wicking material. Available for order here.

    *** Update 6/5/2012 ***

Please note there have been some changes to the cost/structure of admittance. Our contact, Ray, has done his best to get the club the best deal possible, but due to some mis-communications the following changes have been made. Please note that SeaWorld has further discounted the admission and tour costs to try and offset the required lunch. This is still an excellent deal!

    • Admission cost has been lowered to $18 per person but does require the purchase of the lunch plan ($12.99), so admission with lunch is $30.99. Compare this to the normal gate price of $49.99 per person.
    • Tour cost has been lowered to $12 per person.

If you have already pre-paid for your tickets you will need to pay (or be refunded) the difference. Please contact me if that is the case and we will make arrangements to do so. Anyone who pre-paid who wishes to change their mind is eligible for a full refund.

The last day to purchase tickets will be midnight, Friday June 15th. If you miss that deadline you will still be able to attend the tour for $12, but will have to arrange your own park admission.

Tickets should be available for pickup on Thurs, June 28th around 6:30pm at either River City Aquatics or the Austin Aqua-Dome. You'll need to let us know which location you intend to pick up at.

  3. You should put them in a Burger King bag since your at McDonalds! LMAO j/k bro. Hope your tank is doing good with those new AI lights.

And just when I think I'm the only sarcastic one around here. ;)

  4. I'd like to take a moment to welcome our newest Professional Member, North Austin Pet Sitting. They are a small pet care business run by Kari and Dustin (you know Dustin as Reefernoob). I'll let them tell you in their own words what they do.

North Austin Pet Sitting is offering a 5% discount to ARC Premium Members and provides a great option for sometime to watch your critters (furred or finned) when you can't be at home.

    Welcome aboard, guys!

  5. I will be headed to aquatek tomorrow afternoon. I will be there meeting some people between 4:30 and 5:15 pm.

Shawn, not to pick on you but this is a good chance to mention that it is discouraged to do frag swaps at Sponsor and Local Fish Store (LFS) locations unless they have specifically said it is ok. We have received complaints before from sponsors stating that they don't appreciate sales going on in their parking lots and definitely not within their stores.

  6. Mike, have you used it alread? If so, your thoughts? Also, some reviews suggest swapping out the spark plug, have you? Any other advice in regard to this generator? Btw, I'm happy to add mine to the available equipment for premium members. I could be north resource for it, and you could be south.

I read the same thing about the spark plug. I've actually never started it (I know I should). I got it when we had a brownout last year in anticipation of needing it, but so far so good. I figured for $99 it was well worth having on hand.

  7. I know I saw some at the Aqua-Dome this week. You may also check with Jake at River City, they are having there first Friday sale tomorrow night and he usually gets in a ton of critters.

  8. I made mine last year. You can find "bird netting" at Home Depot and Lowes in the garden section, along with the screening pieces you'll need. The nice thing about the bird netting is that it is black and hides very well on the top of the tank rather than reflecting like the white material from BRS. Opt for the smaller weave (1/4" I think) versus the larger (1/2"). The 1/2" holes are large enough for fish to squeeze through.

  9. I'd like to introduce our newest sponsor, Carl and the gang at American Aquarium Products! (

http://www.americanaquariumproducts.com). You can participate in their discussion forum and ask questions here. Be sure to monitor their forum for monthly specials and sales. Additionally you'll find many informational links on their site as well as a wide selection of reef-related equipment.

And now a word from our sponsor!

For unique products from Via Aqua, Tropic Marine & other aquarium and pond supplies; Aquarium pumps, filters, uv sterilizers, fish food, to aquarium information and treatments. To ocean themed home decor; shell night lights, seashells, wind chimes and more.

American Aquarium Products is the place to go!

Let's all take a minute to say thanks for their support!
