  1. The club recently received an Accli-Mate for review, but depending on the fish it may be too small for extended acclimation.

They have an XL model but it's super expensive.

The one that belongs to the club is available for check out by Premium Members. PM me if you would like to arrange a pickup to try it out. The only commitment is to do a product review for it afterward.

  2. I went to seaworld and aquatica this past weekend it was alot of fun though i now have a season pass is it possible to just pay for the tour?

Yes, just post here telling how many are in your party with a breakdown of how many will need admission tickets and how many will be attending the tour.

  3. Thx for the reply. I'm gonna keep my eyes out for some 55 gallon drums, but if in the next couple weeks I cannot find any I may hit you up if you've still got em. Have they been cleaned out well or would I need to do that? What would you recommend the best way would be to totally sterilize something like that so I could start storing RO water without the risk of algae or bacteria growing in it?

I'm using Dr. Pepper syrup barrels as well (14g and 30g) and all I did was rinse them several times with a cup full of bleach added to the water. I rinsed them over several days and then let them dry out. I actually like the faint smell of Dr. Pepper I get when I open them. smile.png

If you search on Austin, Craigslist for "water barrel" you'll get tons of reasonable priced options. I bought my 55gal from the barrel supply in Buda on the southbound service road because I was in a rush, and I feel like I overpaid at the time.

  4. Go to aquatek, get the 3 blue 3W stunners with the 12v adapter, just use the double sided tape it comes with and you're done.

There are much cheaper options than that if you only want some blue light at night. Stunners are great for actinics with your whites, but you can get something for less than $10 than will provide blue light at night. Additionally, red light actually lets you see more creatures at night. I ran one of these in my Solana for quite a while.

Remember that you'll still want them on a timer so that the tank gets some hours of true darkness each evening.

  5. FYI, if you need gear and large crowds are ok, this is for you. (perfect for picking up items for our Coast Trip)

The Coleman Plant is having a tent sale this weekend. Anything Coleman makes pretty much is out there (bag chairs, tents, cots, life jackets, air mattresses, camping stuff and ice chests, ice chests, ice chests)! The Coleman plant is on FM 306, so if you go down 306 towards Canyon Lake it is on your right hand side before you get to the first railroad tracks.

  6. I'll be marking the count as PAID as I receive payments. I will have to purchase all the tickets a few days ahead of time and have a method to distribute them before the event. I'm thinking we may have two meet-ups (RCA and Aqua-Dome) a few days before the trip in order to distribute tickets. Payments must be received by June 15th to insure that we have enough time to get the tickets and distribute them.

I got prices on ARC SeaWorld t-shirts, and for the dri-fit wicking material we're looking at about $10-12 apiece and should be able to accommodate most sizes.
