  1. I've got some colt coral and devils hand leather frags you're welcome to.
  2. green = ground, white = neutral, black = live
  3. Let it be, I seriously doubt that any real damage was done. Mushrooms are incredibly tough.
  4. Yeah, my folks are in Garland so I'm trying to work it to go. Think tickets will sell out?
  5. I'd put it in a trashcan with water and a pump, let it run for a few weeks. Then once you're getting fairly clean readings you should be fine moving it to sump/overflow. Other question is, how large is the tank you're adding it to? The smaller, the more it would be affected.
  6. Some challenges aren't worth it. Dead rock.

    Hanging Kit

Keep in mind that you really don't need the cables adjusted at all four corners, rather you just need to be able to adjust the mid point where it attaches to the ceiling. Once you have the midpoint centered it should be able to tighten to keep it fixed there. I have this one and it looks nice, simple, and is awesome. Height is adjustable but not something you'd want to do every day (you have to offset the fixture weight while you adjust it) kit I use Take a look here for other options: hanging kits The kit you use looks like it could work well for what I need, but marinedepot doesn't really give any details about it. How long are the horizontal cables? My fixture is over 24" wide so I need one with longer cables. I thing. Thanks Cables in that kit are shorter than what you're asking, but are easily replaceable with stuff you get at HD.

  9. Used but in good shape 29g biocube, includes: mediabaskets media basket, fuge basket, fish saver guard 29g filtration package heater biocube 29 skimmer Koralia powerhead (not sure of the model) fans have been replaced. Has 3mo old bulbs (will include old set of bulbs) for $350 will throw in your choice of some corals (GSP, devil's hand leather, zoas) and a blue spot goby (5") My wife just doesn't like the sound/light in the bedroom and I don't have anywhere else in the house to put it. Can provide actual pictures of the setup on request (stock photos used)
  10. Thanks for all the replies. Another member here had one in their garage and offered me a great deal on a trade for it. I'm supposed to pick it up this weekend. As for the waterchange setup, I've made the following progress: I got the top cut and pump installed on my 30g barrel. I also have a float valve installed so that the 30g is constantly topped off and I no longer flood the laundry room. I put my mag3 in the 30g and have a setup where with a flip of a switch I pump water from my barrel to my container of choice. I'll include pics shortly. I currently have an extra mag9 with a length of hose that I plan to leave in my sump's large section. Once I've made my salt water on the cart, I'll wheel it over to my tank. Turn on the mag9, pump 5g to my nearby toilet using the attached hose. Turn of the mag9 and then let 5g gravity feed from the cart into the sump. I don't have to worry about empty anything from the cart or doing any heavy lifting that way. I'll probably keep 2 extra 5g containers on the cart to hold my extra RO water. My ATO reservoir in both tanks is a 5g square jug.
  11. All depends on your budget.. Most people are using lamps from NanoTuners, and I am running lamps from EcoXotic. A fair number of folks are using PAR30 & PAR38 bulbs from RapidLED and BoostLED, as well - they are certainly cheaper than the bulbs offered by actual aquarium companies, but a bit less of a rep for what is probably some lesser R&D. People have had success with all of the brands though, regardless of color spectrum and wattage. These run in a regular light socket, right?
  12. Not 80g, 80lbs. I'm on the 5% weekly water change, so for my 90g I do 5g change, and since it's easier to just do 5g at a time I do the same on my 29g biocube. Total of 10g of water per week
  13. Tell us a little about how you think it would work.
  14. Reef-safe, but says that they'll eat crustaceans and smaller fish.
  15. Congrats! Hopefully she knows about your tank addiction.
  16. I have almost exactly the same setup, and here are two things I notice: 1) When Mike says the baffles are backwards, I think he means that you have the tank situated backwards. Currently you have the overflow on the right (three baffles) the return in the middle (single wall) and what appears to be a fuge on the left. Instead, you want: the overflow (single wall) fuge in the middle (three baffles) and then return. Most of your bubbles come from the overflow, so I've found that running the overflow into a filter sock and then over the single wall eliminates most of my overflow bubbles. The trip through the fuge with macro-algae gets rid of more, then the pass through the bubble trap eliminates most of the rest. (picture of my setup attached - you can see the filter sock on the left of the picture but not the actual overflow line). You'll also notice that my return line has a T with valve that allows me to divert water back into the fuge section. Like you I also had problems matching the pump return rate to the overflow drain rate, this valve allows me to adjust the return rate until it is just right. 2) I have the same mag return pump, and notice that you are not using the mag foam filter that PBNJ mentions. He's right, it's a large foam block that fits on the intake of the Mag, it'll trap any remaining bubbles and keep them from being sucked into the pump and returned to your tank. This seems to be the only piece of equipment you're missing. I got mine at the Aquadome for about $15, you'll want to buy 2 as it occasionally has to be cleaned and it's easier to swap them out than try to keep reusing the same one mid-water change. 3) I also have the same corner overflow as you and tried using the Durso overflow configuration you have. I keep getting a "toilet flush" surge sound from it, so I setup a Hofer Gurglebuster Hoffer gurglebuster. The most difficult thing setting up the Durso is getting the air volume right (as you've seen). The Hofer is much easier to control. and can be made with <$5 in parts. Good luck, and let me know if any of this helped!
  17. I'm trying to simplify my water change process, but want something that looks nice in my laundry room (where my RO/DI connection is). I'm thinking of getting a cart similar to this: with a water container on top. Anyone know a good inexpensive source for carts like this that can take the weight (approx 80lbs of new water). I'd like to be able to have it on top of the cart so that I can gravity feed replacement water into my sump, while having a container on the bottom shelf for dirty water (approx 40 lbs). This will let me fill the tank in my laundry, mix the salt there, then wheel it to my two tanks for the water change.
  18. Don't remember the name. I'll have to look it up and let you know What kind of star fish are those on your picture? Red Knobby starfish. I've got an extra one if anyone is looking.
  19. You gotta love the pic of the clownfish and RBTA in the jar.
  20. There are still plenty of icecap ballasts and products around, you just won't have the warranty support that a new product has. Of course, you won't have the cost of a new product either. I'm not sure who told you that T5s would not be sufficient to grow corals. There is a reason T5s displaced VHO, they are more energy efficient and provide plenty of light. For a 120g setup, you may want to go Metal Halide (MH) if you are trying to grow SPS, but for softies and anemones your T5s should be ok. That said, one of the nice things about the icecap ballast is that you can power VHO, PC, or T5 bulbs, so you can mix and match as you like. What are you wanting to stock your tank with?
