Tapatalk users please take note:
We're having an ongoing issue with posts by Tapatalk users displaying <br /> strings instead of line breaks.
Taptalk has said that any members using Tapatalk should uninstall and reinstall the app from their smartphone or tablet. This should fix the linebreaks in the posts. Thanks!

I'm in for at least my amount of credit as well.

Surprisingly I was able to make it. I was the bald guy in the AWESOME maroon/black ARC bowling shirt.

Congratulations John!

p.s. Apparently Steve lives in Central Texas somewhere these days... Field trip?
Sounds fun, let me see if I can get in contact with him...

Hope to have something to post here very shortly about a scuba shop coming on as a sponsor. Our first plan with them will be a discounted certification class for a group of us here to attend together.

One of the exhibitors at C4 specializes in custom stands, I'm not sure if they do metal. They're called The Fish Keeper (and will be coming on as a sponsor here shortly), greer3117 at yahoo.com

A heartfelt thanks goes out to everyone who took the time to attend! The speakers were amazing, the exhibitors and sponsors did a fantastic job and WHAT AN AMAZING VARIETY OF DOOR PRIZES!
Hands down, though, the winners of the day for us were the staff and volunteers. The event could not have run more smoothly and we thank everyone for their hard work and the hours they put in to make it such a great event.
We'll be reviewing the comment cards to make notes so that next year is even better (and bigger). Our biggest challenge will be topping that speaker list, as I said this lineup was amazing!
Apologies for the crowded vendor room (and the loud music coming from next door!), but when the guys started asking if they could bring in more items and tanks to show off for everyone, how could I say no? The goal is to have twice as many exhibitors next year (with at least twice as much room), and the attendance and feedback from our sponsors/exhibitors from this year should make that an easy goal to achieve.
Thanks again guys, I can't tell you how great it felt sitting in the back of the room during the panel discussion and seeing a roomful of active, involved reef-keepers. It's this kind of interest and participation that will keep the hobby moving forward. We're so glad you all enjoyed it!

Ok kids, the store is officially closed. If you didn't get your ticket online you can still purchase at the door tomorrow. Additionally, if you didn't get in on the lunch buffet but would like to, the Crowne Plaza has offered to allow anyone without a lunch ticket to purchase the lunch buffet at the same discounted price. I'd recommend that since it lets you stay close to insure you don't miss any of the door prize drawings.
Check the itinerary here, and remember, you must be present to win. It's going to be a blast people, and thank you all for making this event shape up to be such a success!

I'd be fine holding my credit for the next GB.

C4
in Fish Gallery
I want to go to this so bad. My wife is letting me skip our 2yr. newphews party to get some stuff straight with the tanks, I better not push my luck. Otherwise, I might end up at a kids party....
You know what kids really like? Fish conferences.
Especially when they get in free

I've had mine about 4 years. It's fine with corals but has become one of the most territorial and aggressive fish that I have. It harrases any wrasses that I've owned. Gorgeous fish, but if the wife would let me I'd get rid of it.

My most expensive item wasn't in my order bag. Anyone else happen to receive it?

I've also been reading numerous reports about fires started by generic Chinese units, so be very careful what you buy and whom you buy from. As always, do your homework and make sure that the money you're saving justifies what you get.

Dave (dapettit) has a full light system he'd probably sell (includes ballasts, reflectors, etc).
-
Check out the BRS tutorial videos, they cover how to set one up. Orrrrrrrr................
Marc Levenson will be going over RO/DI units, what they do, and how to set one up during his presentation at C4 this weekend. There are also multiple RO/DI units being offered as door prizes (including the one he's using in his demonstration).

A 2" brace shouldn't cast enough of a shadow to be significant. If you can avoid having high rockwork directly under it you shouldn't even see a shadow. Try it and you should be fine.
-
Are there going to be any livestock sold at C4 either from vendors or lfs
Yes, we have several exhibitors who will be selling livestock:
- Aquaculture Ranch
- Austin Aquadome
- River City Aquatics
- Zoanthids.com
As well as several members who are bringing frags but not setting up a tank. You may want to bring a small cooler to carry your purchases in.
-
I'd like Scubasteve to pickup my order.

Congratulations Kim, he's beautiful! The fact that he got his start on one of our first big excursions makes him even more special to me. I really thought he'd end up with a name like Gil or Marlin though.

I'm happy to announce that John @ Reefcleaners.org has renewed his ARC Sponsorship for 2013, which means that ARC Premium members continue to receive a 5% discount on purchases through the site. John continues to be a great source of all the critters, macros, and dry goods your clean up crew needs to keep your tank sparkling!
Be sure to follow their sponsor forum for the latest discounts and sales, and let's all take a moment to thank them for their continued support!
