I would stick with t-5 fixtures and avoid the metal halide heat issue on tanks that small.

I have read on here about coral dipping. I don't do it but I should. What should I use to prevent unwanted things from getting into my tank? What is your preferred dip recipe?

I haven't seen any tanks with mussels that I am aware of. I confess I thought mussels were freshwater. I have used cleaner clams, conchs, all kinds of snails and crabs, and starfish in an effort to keep my tank clean. I haven't tried mussels tho. Sounds like they would work well in a refugium or possibly a sump. BTW, the picture you reffered to is not there.

Sorry Christian. I was speaking of adults owning a business they are using to support themselves and their families.

The two K-2's were used for about 2 years I think but were working fine when I replaced them with the K-3's. The two K-3's were used less than a month cause I replaced them with 1080 GPH Revolutions. They all have the concentrator assembly. K-2's $15 each Pending K-3 - $40. Both K-3's for $75. Cash please. No trades.

I am retired now but I never wanted to work for myself. When you work for yourself, you are working for the worst boss with the worst benefits possible. You can't call in sick, go on vacation, or take a "mental health day". If you are not there, who is running the business and watching the cash register and stock? The only health/dental insurance is whatever the business can afford. You end up working 6 or 7 days a week waiting on customers during the day and then doing paperwork all night. I was very happy putting in my 25 years with the City of Austin then taking my pension and going elsewhere. I worked my 8 hours during the day, was off most every weekend, and certainly on all holidays. During my last 10 years with the City, I was off 2 weeks at Christmas, at least 2 weeks during the summer, and called in sick whenever I felt the need. I had excellent health and dental insurance. Having your own business is not all it is built up to be, IMHO.

I put 2 TBSP of Aragamite in a five gallon bottle of top off water then shake vigorously. I can refill the bottle 2 or 3 times without adding more Aragamite.

Put the rock on the bottom, then add your substrate. Your rock will be stable and diggers won't matter much. I have seen several people put eggcrate on the bottom, then the rock, then the substrate. The eggcrate will diffuse the weight of the rock somewhat.

We can have more than one forum. Lets keep things seperate so that it isn't so we don't have to read lots of stuff we aren't interested in. Have a forum each for feeding, fragging, algae (perhaps one for macro and one for nuisance).
