  1. Thanks. That is certainly true. I feel much better.
  2. My u-tube started leaking rather badly where it was connected to the outflow nipple. I disconnected it and now my tank does not have a return. I have the circulation pumps running but the water is not being oxygenated. Will the fish and corals live till Home depot opens in the morning, roughly 12 hours? I have a couple of air pumps that I can hook up and blow air into the tank. Is that necessary? There was enough water underneath to trip the UFI breaker. That is a leak.
  3. Marking this project off the list might be a trifle premature. You might want to revisit the project in about 6 weeks - after the sleep depravation sets in.
  4. There is nice USED Current t5 for sale on the board for $150. My best advice, jump on it while it is still available.
  5. I would choose the T5 fixture to avoid the heat issue. I like this one. I have the 48in version. I got my 48in for the price they are listing. Wait for a sale if you can. http://www.marinedepot.com/Current_USA_SunDial_T5_HO_w_Timers_LED_24_Inch_T5_Fluorescent_Light_Fixtures-Current_USA-CU01150-FILTFIT54U-vi.html
  6. I'll watch him closer. The only algae on the back glass that I can see is coraline and he is not touching that. I wonder if it is truly flatworms tho. I don't see them anyplace else but on the back glass. I tried to take pictures but my camera is just not up for that level of photography. I'll just keep watching. It's a tough job but someone has to do it.
  7. I just saw my lawnmower blenny eating the flatworms off the back glass of my tank. Is that normal behavior? I know he must be hungry cause my tank doesn't have much in the way of algae anymore. I was debating about using flatworm exit but I was hesitatant due to the stories i read about the flatworm toxins. YEA Blenny!
  8. the Drs Foster and Smith run specials on that stuff sometimes. They also have $8.99 flat rate shipping.
  9. There is also the heating from the sun. It heats the roof and attic which eventually starts heating the walls. At night, the heat absorbed by the house starts to radiate back into the atmosphere, thus heating up the house. An attic fan is excellent for alleviating this type of heating.
  10. wayne how much was it?
  11. I am not sure what you have now but 216 watts of T5 ought to be suffucient for most anything you want to have. Find a fixture you can afford. There is a tank here in Hutto owned by dav_nolen that is absolutely gorgeous and that is what he uses. He has pics in the gallery I think.
  12. "Here fishy fishy. Now this might pinch a little."
  13. It is doing very well. I swear it has grown about 1/4 to 3/8 of an inch. When I look at it with an LED flashlight after the lights go out, it glows kinda bluish green. It is quickly becoming one of my favorite pieces, behind my duncans and the fuzzy orange mushrooms. I'll try to get a picture when it is open.
  14. It happened to me as well, twice.
