  1. WOW! Jeff, we brought the corals home and they look fantastic! Everyone, you really need to come and see the Carpet nem that Jeff has, its freakin huge and beautiful!! Its easily 1 foot across and is just awesome. If I had a bigger tank, this puppy would be my show piece. Whoever takes it home is going to be really happy. The picture really doesnt do these corals justice and one of the hammer corals is about the size or a number 3 or 4 soccer ball. I just wish I had more money and tank space to take all the stuff I wanted home.

  2. ok, here's mine. Funny story with this flame hawk. He disappeared for a few weeks, thought he was dead. Turns out he had jumped into the overflow area of my 90g Oceanic. Eventually, we bought a spotted reef hawk, and one day while inspecting the bottom of the tank with a flashlight, he popped into view at the bottom of the overflow area, scared me to death! I've had him for a couple of years now. I didnt mean to take this picture for the pic of the month, it sorta just happened, so thats why the color is not all that. Its exactly like I took it.

  3. I have a whole bunch of mushrooms, they are somewhat reddish, but close to Longhorn orange. Depends on the lighting. Big question, how do remove them from the rock without killing them to sell? Secondary question, how much can I ask for them? A couple of these are literally 4 inches across, like image008, the fish is in front of the one that is 4 inches across. As you can see from the other pics, there are alot.

  4. yeah, his response is what I have recvd from them many times, 65 if they replace parts and 85 if they replace the entire circuit board. Seems that they really do repair these (or someone does it for them). Either way its a 1 yr warranty rather than the 3yr for a new ballast. I was hoping he would do better than 40-50 bucks each, but if they have to replace the board, it doesnt matter if its a group fix or not i guess.

  5. i figured we would have more people with bad units: this was the reply from icecap, so with 5 units I doubt they will give us much break: we could work something out but I would prefer only 1 person send the entire bunch in and provide payment. With say 20 ballasts, we could manage somewhere in the area of $40 - 50 parts and labor per ballast as long as it is repairable. If not we have to charge $85 for a brand new circuit board which makes it a new ballast just reusing the same case.

You would have to keep track of each persons ballast by serial number so you know who's ballast has a charge or not and if any are not repairable. For a large lot the turn around may be a couple weeks.

  6. I was curious to know how many of you have broken icecap ballasts? Please post how many and what model it is, and I'll total it up. I'm trying to see if icecap will do a "group fix".

If one of you would post this same request on Maast, i would appreciate it, I can't post on there since I havnt done the obligatory 100 posts yet.

just post once on either site and I'll count them up.
