had this happen to mine last year, looked like someone took a paper hole punch to him.

it actually works too well, you trap the guys you dont want first. It has a fishing line string to the door so you can open or close it without sticking your hands in the tank. Let me know if you want to try it, its just sitting my the garage on the shelf.

I have an Ultralife Aquarium fishtrap (4x9) that you could borrow to catch the shrip and crabs with. I'm in Gtown too.

be best to call her for details on services, mine was just a matter of checking to make sure my water was topped off since I dont have an ATO. Like I told my wife, too much money invested in what we have to go cheap and have a neighbor look in from time to time. I've heard too many horror stories.

stumbled across this site soslightbilbs.com, they have Phoenix 14k 250w HQI bulbs for 49.95, with shipping and tax to Gtown, it was 116.64. Seems like a good price off hand, thoughts?

couldnt you mount the DJ with the switches pointed up, and the power cords down, so that the power cords are going up into the power sockets?

Howdy, we're going to take our first Snow trip to Albuquerque, NM. I wanted advice on the route to take to get there. Google maps shows two routes, one is up 35 to OK, then west via i40 to Alb.
OR, i10 west thru Fort Stockton, El Paso and up i25 thru NM. We're driving, so I wanted to see if anyone has done this and which route would be best.

I havnt had algea problems, but I was recently given 5 gallons of salt water that was purhcased at one of the local stores that everyone goes to. Monday, this 5 gallons was part of the 15 gallons I used for a water change. Now I have this algea. The person that gave me the water also had this algea problem, but couldnt figure out where the algea was coming from. He would do more water changes to try to resolve the issue and unknowingly was adding more of the problem water. What kind of algea is it and how do I get rid of it? I have a Naso tang, Powder blue and coral beauty, none of them seem interested. I threw in 4 Turbos to see if they would like a snack. I'll stick to my ro/di water from now on. What is wrong with the stores water, what caused it, bad filters?

+3 on the air pump. They make 12v versions for cars, fishermen use them to keep live bait aerated in a bucket or icechest for hours/days.

Thank you Cindy! Great to meet you and I love your tank!

Cindy had to move the date to today, I'll be heading there later.

download malwarebytes (free version) from malwarebytes.org, run it and it should catch any popup programs. I use this one all the time to disinfect client systems.

running the hoses is the Dave Petit method , ping him and he will enlighten you. I think he finally put together an ATO system, but hoses was what he used for a while. I carry (3) 5 gallon jugs to the curb and (3) more to the tank to add back in every two weeks.

plan out (physically) how you will actually do your water changes. Lugging 5 gallon jugs gets old, (~8lbs each gallon) and carrying 2 at a time is really heavy. Plan the whole thing out as well as you can, then get others to review your plans. Money is tight these days, but I have learned not to skimp on lighting and flow. That said, it doesnt mean you should blow your wallet either.

will he play nice with a Sepent Star? if so, I'd like to have him, I can be there about 7pm-ish, I'll send you a PM with my number, just call me if someone else can come get it before me to save me a trip. I live in Gtown.

you would think that that the police could pull a log of calls to cell towers near the fish store made at that time. They have the exact time he got the call.
