My two cents, I have been very happy with http://www.thefilterguys.biz/
Jim ALWAYS answer the phone, has been very knowledgeable and is quick with the shipping. he will talk your ear off and will listen.
I bought the ocean wave plus, and then added another attachment (which I think ended up being the reef miser package), so I get a 1.5 to 1 ratio (1.5 waste).
My suggestion, call him, you'll like him. I also bought the Co2 scrubber from him later on.

I hope your battery is charged

not to hijack the thread, but I have a 6ft extension cable (new) for this 430 ballast. It can also be cut to be used as primary cord. Shoot me an IM. 25 bucks.

so how/when do we pay? paypal, cash?
-
I'd like 5 or so as well, let me know if you need more or less, I'm flexible, and we can always buy more in the future.

I would ping John at reefcleaners, perhaps you got someone else's crabs. I bet he makes it right if you ask...

great posting, I needed that! Repped! Oh, sorry, wrong forum

yeah, no joy. called the local water filter/softener companies: "whats an RO unit?" Ok, never mind. One guy said they had them, 55 dollars, but his parts guy was off today So I ordered from filterguys after all.
-
well, didnt think it would get this cold in the garage a few weeks ago, but apparently it did. One of the canisters that hold the RO filter cartridges broke (right after the threads). I can get one from the filter guys (where I bought the unit) but thats 14+13 for shipping, so kinda pricey. Anyone have any ideas where i could get one locally, quickly? Aquatek and RCA didnt have them. Gonna try local water softener shops too.

I would like them, I'm close, but I wouldnt be able to get them until between 5 and 6.
-
Anyone try one of these? I like the idea of the rowaphos not clogging or creating channels as noted by one of the reviews.

to the bulbs, reflectors etc.

I just replaced my (4) 48 inch T5 bulbs, so I have (4) old ones that I dont need anymore. If anyone would like these, please let me know, otherwise I'll get rid of them properly. (2) of them are Current usa 420nm and (1) is Current usa 460nm and the last one is an ATI blue plus (460nm I think). These bulbs are more than a year old, so I'm sure the color has shifted.

I bought a Aquacontroller 3 from a guy locally, and it works fine. The problem is that the aquanotes software that it came with is from 2005. It doesnt have the graphing etc that the later versions seem to have. My question is: Is it permissible to borrow someone's (newer) aquanotes and install it, or does Neptune frown on that?

For those that are getting shocked by your water
in Reef Keeping

I would get shocked sometimes when I put my hands in the water and I touched the lighting, either by the sump light or by the main light on the top tank. So last night I used a volt meter to test the water (black voltmeter probe to the 3rd prong of a gounded outlet and red probe tip in the water) and turns out the Koralia1 in the main tank was putting 115v into the water (shocking!). i removed the k1 and no more voltage in the water
