I'm not sure if I'd classify any coral as easy or hard. I just bought my son a hamster ("easy!") and so far it has proven to be more difficult/more work than my 5ft tank filled with SPS. Once you get a green (green? blue?) thumb, they're all fairly easy. That being said, orange Ricordeas are pretty. Orange Digitata are also. You could probably flush both of these down the toilet and they'd still be happy on the other side. Everything is blue and green so you could go nuts.

Eight months ago I noticed my tank was not level - rear right corner to front left corner there was around 1/4" difference. It was plumb level when it was first set up so we figured it was the house settling. This is a Red Sea Reefer 450 so from end to end it's around 5 feet. This caused me immense stress. Leaning, sure, but leaning at an angle towards one corner? This prompted a very long back and forth with various departments at Red Sea. Pictures and measurements were sent. They assured me with 100% confidence that yes, they stress test their tanks, and they're built to well-exceed 1/4" off level. They told me not to do anything, and just enjoy my tank. Before you drain and shim and make a day out of it, it may be beneficial to contact the manufacturer of your aquarium and get their input.

Bristle worms. Beneficial detritus eaters, helpful. I absolutely hate them. If the population gets too large, get a melanurus wrasse. They LOVE them. I wouldn't even bother with manual removal. You'll create a trap, maybe you'll get a couple dozen of them. But there are guaranteed a hundred more still living and reproducing in your live rock. The bristle population will ebb and flow depending on your (over)feeding habits. I like fat fish so instead of reducing food....melanurus wrasse for the win.

I used Fluconazole for Briopsis. It removed it incredibly efficiently. Just evaporated over a period of a few weeks. And, unexpectedly, it killed all traces of hair algae (it was taking over chaeto in my sump, with some small spots in the DT). That was four months ago. No HA or Briopsis has returned. I did have to restart my chaeto with a fresh batch after treatment, though. But my new stuff is growing like crazy just like pre-treatment.

So I'm resurrecting this post back from the dead one last time. I've gotten dozens of people on Reef2Reef wanting me to ship it to them but I don't think they quite grasp the shipping costs for something this large. So, one last gasp, if anyone local wants it.

I'm breaking down my Iwagumi planted tank. Excellent canister filter. Purchased 9 months ago, and has been used around half that time. Works brand new. Paid $120 for it. Looking for $70. Also selling a DOOA Stream Pipe V (inflow) and DOOA Stream Pipe Art (outflow). Paid around $70 each for these. I'll sell them for $40 each. I also have some beautiful Manten Stone, 15 pounds, purchased from Aqua Forest Aquarium in San Francisco. I paid $140 for this selection. Asking $70. Full disclosure, they shoot for 12 in the video, not 25. I was kidding. My tanks doing great at 8. Some day I may try slowly dosing my way up to 11 or 12 as an experiment but not really any time soon.

I've been keeping my dKh between 8.0 and 8.2 for as long as my tank has been alive. Then BRS releases this video yesterday on substantially increased coral growth after maintaining 12 dKh. I'm intrigued enough to hear from you guys on running a tank with alk that high. I've always heard that higher alk can increase coral growth (as long as your tank isn't ULNS) but this is the first time I've seen definitive results. Would love to hear y'alls thoughts!

I practically begged this guy (Turbos Aquatics maker, not oOzarkawater) to sell me an ATS. Begged for months. He's not interested. Incredibly frustrating. Told me to buy second hand, too busy. If this were the right sized unit for my tank, I'd buy immediately.

Just took an iPhone pic. This is pretty representative of the polyp extension I see in my tank. FWIW polyp extension does seem to change depending on individual tanks. Particularly lighting/flow.

I'm running out of room. I'm putting these up here to see if anyone on here would be interested in trading for some SPS. I'm located in Circle C (SW Austin) - Elephant Ear Coral. This thing is absolutely huge. Given the space it exceeds 12". Hasn't eaten fish. In fact this is my preferred bed for my starry blenny. - "Yellow" Leather Toadstool. Also huge. I'd guess when it's fully open (this pic was taken in the AM), almost 12". I've also never seen it yellow. Something about my tank's lighting/nutrients makes it brown. If this gets traded and turns yellow in your tank, there will be some minor resentment. - Fox coral. Since upgrading my lighting (I absolutely blast this tank with LED), my tank is no longer suitable for this coral. As you can see in the pic, it won't open fully (usually it's expanded 3x whats pictured)

Is the bottom picture the Sunburst? It's difficult to tell. The coloring on both look like Rainbows.

Black widow, Sherman, Lemon, et cetera.

It isn't yet. Either Android or Windows/Mac. I bought a $10 Bluetooth adapter for my computer and it worked perfectly.
