  1. How about one peppermint angel instead? And a few bubble mushrooms for it to snack on? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Expensive snack for an expensive fish, talk about ballin...
  2. Hey Rob. Good to hear from you.The tank is done. It's the sump and stand we are waiting on. I think the sump will be done next week. Not sure about the stand. Maybe another week or so. I'll need some recommendations on the wrasses. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk That's great Chris, you must be stoked to get it all setup. I've heard nothing but great things about the reef savvy tanks so it sounds like it'll all be worth the wait in the end. I'll definitely do my best to recommend some wrasses. You could always start things off right with one of these image.jpeg Nice looking fish Rob. Care to fill me in? I'm sure it is a million dollar wrasse? They got it anampses feminus (blue striped tamarin). They come around a few times a year on divers den and usually sell for around the $900-$1100 range. Which is a lot of $$$ for a fish, they are quite striking though. You would def be ballin if you got one of those guys, would need a sand bed though as they are sand sleepers.
  3. Dang man sorry to hear about all the issues. That's crazy that you have not been able to get those nitrates down. Definitely sounds like a lot of work pulling all the rocks and soakin them. Just out of curiosity what salt mix are you using? Could it have been the alk was too high in the new salt water? I have been using RSCP and tested the alk on a fresh batch last week and it was 13 dkh, which is way to high for my liking.

  5. Chris congrats on winning this bad boy!!! This is really gonna be quite the build can't wait for this to come together. Any word on the tank? I'm gonna have to agree with Ty you should go with a nice wrasse dominated tank ?
  6. Merry Christmas ARC!!!

  7. Lol, yeah school has kept me busy the last few months. I will get an update posted here soon. The growth from the pics above is outstanding. I am really surprised because I always thought the the 10k would be waaaaay to yellow, but they look really nice. You can def tell a difference, especially that cap on the right hand side of your tank.
  8. Congrats on the new addition!!! Tank is looking great too btw!!!!
  9. Looking good man! Love the way the canopy came out, that's a great way to hang your lights! You gonna cycle the new tank before you move everything over?
  10. Anyone know where to get a custom cut piece go acrylic? Looking to make a cover for my overflow

Regal plastics will cut it for you. If you pick one out of the scrap heap, you might get it real cheap.

I cut my own with my compound mitre saw. If you get the piece, we can cut it over here. I have a router if we need any teeth or other rounded cuts as well.

I got the mp40 wet side at RCA for fairly inexpensive, might be worth checking into. I know I saw the repair kits online for a lot less tho

Nope no one in town has em, all they have is the whole wet side assembly... I hate to spend $90 to replace a broken shaft bolt

  13. My tip, don't tell your wife that. LMAO As for the fish that is really awesome that those guys have lived that long!!! I had no idea that some of these guys live as long as 30-40 years. Had heard of clowns that live for close to 20 years, but 30 is pretty darn amazing!!!!

No warning strawberry shortcake just up and rtn'd, all other corals look ok.... Hope it stays that way ;(

  15. Thomas deepest condolences to you and your family. It was just a couple of weeks ago that he helped me with some plumbing issues on my tank. Your brother was so very wonderfull and will be sorely missed by the reefing community Definetly puts things into perspective, well said Jestep. Ty PP sent.

  17. Wow this is truly sad news. RIP Tim
  18. Anyone recommend a place to get a custom canopy for a reasonable price?

  19. Set up BRS dosing pumps last night..... Phew no more dosing by hand, can't say I'm gonna miss that!

  20. Merry merry ARC, hope everyone got what they wanted for their tanks!!

  21. Pulled the trigger, MP40 on the way!!!!!!

  22. That's a great idea. That is gonna look real nice in the tank when it gets some good coralline growth on it, and it will look a lot more natural than a plastic frag rack.
  23. Dang, that's a sweet deal on the wavebox... can I get third dibs if the others bail?
