    Vrolik Wrasse

Thanks, for the response, think that I am gonna give this guy a go whenever LA gets some back in stock,
  14. Hey Austin reefers, Just wondering if any of you have had any experience keeping a Vrolik's wrasee? I have been eyeing these guys for sometime now and they seem to be beautiful fish, but they are pretty hard to come by, and there is not a lot of information out there on them. The only place that I have found that seems to get them from time to time is LA. If you have any experience with these guys I would love to hear about it. Here's the info from LA: http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=15+1379+2997&pcatid=2997
  15. Tank looks great Jason, and so does the new acro! Man, its a shame about the rics sorry to hear about that, but the tank looks like it is doing very well and all the SPS seem to be very colorful. This tank is gorgeous cant wait to see what you got coming with the new tank build.
  16. Very nice, like the way that you have it aquascaped! You will have plenty of places to mount frags once everything is cycles and ready to go.

    Sand

I am guessing that you are wanting to add sand to your existing system? If so then yes you can add the sand to the tank that you have, however I would do so slowly to give the bacteria a chance to colonize the new sand without creating a mini cycle in your tank. Also make sure that you thoroughly rinse the new sand before adding it as well. For example add maybe 1-2 cups of sand a week to the DT when you do you water change. This is how I added sand to my DT and did not have any issues.

  20. Its hard to say for sure, but IMO the mystery is definetly a prime suspect, as they have been known to be pretty aggressive fish. And they have also been known to target inverts as their prey.
  21. +1 to what Mike and AquaJohn are saying, the coke bottle fish trap works well just takes some patience and getting the ifsh comefortable with someting foreign in the tank. IMO if you follow what they both posted above you will catch that fish! Good luck.
  22. If you catch the shrimp take em out, and put em in the sump if you have one. That way the royal will be alone to get the food. Then try again. IME the coke bottle is the best bet for not tearing your tank apart. Another option is to drain the tank Most of the way and try to get him in the shallow water. Also some folks have had luck going in at night when the lights are out then turning on the lights real fast which will in essence, stun the fish, and slow em down, makingthem easier to catch. Lastly if you have the room you could try to move all rock to one side and use an egg crate to separate the tank in half trapping the fish on the side with no rock. HTH
  23. Set up BRS dosing pumps last night..... Phew no more dosing by hand, can't say I'm gonna miss that!
