    This is most certainly one of "those" questions that I have never been able to get a straight answer on. I was actually thinking about the exact same thing last night. Funny? I use these Stealth heaters. Some people however don't like them. This article has a pretty good section on heaters. I know I have had the super cheap heaters fail. I have also read some horror stories about really expensive heaters. I didn't answer your question. I just had to weigh in with my experience.

    If anyone cares I got the temp controller working tonight. It seems to be doing its job. I wish I had done it a month ago because we have had such crazy weather. But what can you do?

    I really think the fractos on ebay are the exact same as the ones that cost twice as much on MD. I have an ebay fracto. it shipped directly from china and works great. I can't even find the swing arm any more. $30 How can you go wrong? James also

    I have one and it is great! I just cleaned it last night and boy that stuff was stinky. I have not done any modifications to it at all. I really have nothing, but nice things to say. I bought mine on ebay because the dealers there are WAY cheaper then any other place. For the price I really don't think they can be beat. The one I purchased is a knock off of a small deltec. The only down side is the instructions are almost non-existent and the output tube is "universal". I had to cut my tube shorter. I am actually seriously considering buying an octopus calcium reactor.

    Please search reefcentral.com and nano-reef.com for "reviews" of Glasscages. I don't have any personal experience and don't want to spread rumors, but I HIGHLY recommend looking for reviews.

    I have a Tenecor tank. The construction is fantastic. I will NEVER own another acrylic tank! It is clear when you can keep it clean which is almost never. Starfire is the way to go. I asked at Kingfish about a custom tank and they said it added very little to upgrade to starfire/low iron.

    On a side note. Have you ever actually met someone that there corals spawned? I have heard the, "this guy some where...10 year old tank...tank crashed" story, but is there any hard personal evidence?

    In theory yes, but I think your get what you pay for. Look at the LED traffic lights. They almost all have bulbs out.

    If you are handy with a multimeter you can find the wires going to the LEDs and measure the voltage. If not there is probably a transformer in the fixture to knock down the voltage to something DC. That transformer most likely will say on it what the output voltage is. Find LEDs that are that voltage and splice them in. Remember LEDs only work one direction because they are a diode. Long story short, if you can get to the wires and know the voltage replacing LEDs in easy.

    I just bought a Ranco dual stage tempcomtroler. I don't understand how to hook it up. Has anyone done this before? I think wiring a single stage would be close to the same. I have the digram, but I need some help. I just don't understand how ever thing is switched.
