+etannert
Whew. I was holding my breath till that last line. Did you lose any of your breeding pairs? Does insurance cover this sort of thing when you're in the breeding business?
Planeden
oh god, that's terrible. sorry for the loss man. bulk reef supply has a youtube video on heaters and how they work. there is one type that works backwards from the others so it is more likely to break in the off position than the on position. i'm not sure if cold is better for the babies or not, but then you just have to worry about a drop to room temp. i'm going to possibly lie now and say it may be the cobalt brand. Mr Cob
Thanks for following and for the comments. No broodstock losses...just the babies from one 10 gallon tank. Here are some Onyx Picasso larvae from lastnight's pot pull...right before tucking them away in their rearing tank:

Mr Cob
Update... Have a new pair that we paired up just a month ago and they put down a nest this evening at 6pm. The female has spawned before but fist time for us and first time with this male. Wild caught Onyx female and Premium Snowflake male FEA lineage. Together this pair will make hybrid Snow Onyx. ckyuv
Sorry to hear about the heater, I had this same heater fail on one of my tanks before, luckily I caught it in time. Glad you still have more guys coming I can never stop looking at your pics lol

Mr Cob
Progress on the fish room build... First.. Picked this system up from Tuan (MAAST) today. I bought a few components and Tuan made some mods for me and came up with a solution to make it all work together as one system : ) This system will dual as a coral frag growout system, clownfish growout and broodstock pairing up top. The coral will be lit by 2 Reef Spectrum BML LED fixtures which I'm in love with. One is a 48" fixture and the other is a 72" fixture. They will be hung above the system and are dimmable. The 72" is ultra bright! The colors are amazing and the fixtures have a very professional look and feel to them. 12 chambers up top Sump... I picked up an acrylic kit off ebay and put this together. May be a little sloppy but it was very affordable.

Mr Cob
Made some more progress on the fish room. Installed Reefkeeper, finished plumbing and got water running through the 12 stall system. Only thing left is to get another return pump to hook the main system up and more cable management.
