  1. That's a good price. I paid that for my 90g aquarium alone
  2. Thought I'd add pics so that people know what they look like
  3. What are you going to do for lighting?
  4. You might check my most recent posts about it (http://www.austinree...h__1#entry99064). I had the same thing on my clown and treated with Maracyn, Maracyn2, and finally QuickCure. I would pull him and put him in a QT tank. The QuickCure did the trick for me and costs about $3. I have a 12g eclipse that I used for QT that you're welcome to borrow.
  5. Man, those things are prolific! You were generous enough to give me some frags of devils hand last year and since then mine have gone nuts. I've probably passed on about 20-30 frags. Mine is constantly pinching off babies! Easiest thing in any tank I've had to grow.
  6. Happy Birthday! Get anything cool?
  7. Jason's got some really nice stuff, you'll be happy with whatever you get from him. Thanks for the Organisms...
  8. No issue at all with them being together. I have BTAs, RBTAs, Long Tip Anemone, rock anemone, and a condy. They're all fine with each other, they just hate corals.
  9. Get one of the credit cards that allows you to generate one-time use numbers for internet purchases. Best protection I've found.
  10. Actually, you don't get to see it all until his next video, "Dealing with crabs".
  11. I was walking through the new Petco in Kyle the other night to get dogfood and was suprised that not only do they have a saltwater section, but that it had corals in it. Nothing amazing, but they had zoa colonies, a gbta, and mushroom rocks. The prices weren't stellar and the gbta was totally bleached, but I was surprised they even had them. Keep in mind that in-store purchases do not have a 15 day guarantee. That seems to be limited to online orders.
  12. Yeah, he's a sweetheart. Had his shots now and is being slowly introduced to our other cat and dog. Pics of the family to come soon...
  13. and new Global Marine Database GMDb link to some cool pics and critters critters
  14. So, my two cents would be that there is nothing special about this box design vs tunze's, the magic isn't in the box construction. From a lot of DIYs I've read I don't think the strength of the pump will be nearly as important as 1) if the pump is designed to deal with the constant on/off used to generate the waves, and 2) the quality of the controller unit that turns the pump on or off. For $100 I think it would be a worthwhile experiment. A pump doesn't have to be super strong to be able to pull in enough water to fill the box, but it has to be durable enough to withstand the wear and tear, plus be designed to auto-correct if the impeller starts up spinning the wrong direction.
  15. Petco had the stands for $99 last year and the Aquadome had them for a few dollars more (support your LFS!), you may want to check locally before going online.
  16. Check these out, some great pieces that allow you to do things with PVC that you can't do with the standard parts available at your local home/garden store. Formufit
  17. Meritline.com offers 20x-12mm, 10x-18mm Jeweler's Loupe for $3.65. Coupon code "MLC400669092859AL1" cuts it to $1.49 with free shipping Loupe
  18. You can get a 3 pack of "Mighty Putty" as seen on tv, for $9 at big lots.

You can cycle a tank without putting fish in it. Pick up a dead fish at any of the LFS, or just put some fish food in there each day. Products such as Stability will help you get a jump start. Much more humane than subjecting a fish to the tank cycle (even if it's a damsel).
  20. I'd keep it, great filter feeder and hardy as heck. Mine found a spot it liked in the tank and hasn't moved in six months except to extend it's antlers and eat.
  21. I think it's much too small and you should stick with your original plan. Give me a heads up when you put this back out by your dumpster...
  22. I've got a custom canopy (cherry and oak), lighting was T5 for actinics and (2)250w Metal Halide. Shout if interested.
  23. How large is the rock with mushrooms and yellows? Looking for a nice LR with life for my son's pico.
