  1. That'd be me. Everything is running along fine under LEDs. Coral growth hasn't slowed. Color is as good, if not better, no heat issues.
  2. 100% LEDs and loving it. I kicked my halide habit.

  7. Bottom line: It's a dream tank. If your dreams including cutting corners and thinking of nothing but the best, it isn't a dream.

2 tanks here are T5 only: A 20 mixed reef and a 30 SPS-dominated. Stop by any time.

  11. You might want to read the below article. Bottom line, aragonite does nothing for your tank: Aquarium Chemistry: Calcite, Aragonite, Limestone, and More
  12. Looking for a female and a male for a Mr. Saltwater Tank TV show I'm shooting on Thursday from 1-5. PM me if interested.

  13. the tank controllers you outlined can make a wave as in a surge like flow in your tank. However, NEITHER of them will make a standing wave like the Tunze wave box or the Vortecs will as the controller can't turn the pumps on/off fast enough to get a standing wave.
  14. Looking for a bullet proof vest for an upcoming Mr. SWT TV show. PM me if you have one

Two weeks from startup to tear down?! I'm with Aqua-Dome.

I've handled 1000s of pounds of live rock over the last 24 years and only come across two mantis shrimp and never any aptasia. I wouldn't start a tank without it.

  22. Definitely looking into this! Thanks Mark! Great...let me know how it goes.
  23. If you have an existing issue, you work up to the full dose first, then you dose every 3-4 days until the issue is under control. Then you can switch to the main't dose of 10 mL/10g 1x a week. Whenever I see a small cyano outbreak I put in a dose and it usually knocks out the cyano overnight. Sounds like your tank has a lot of stored nutrients in it, which is why the cyano keeps coming back. Therefore you'll need more of it to knock out the issue.
  24. Ric...use this stuff for your cyano issue. 100% natural, won't drive your skimmer crazy other than you'll pull out nasty skimmate. I use it on my tank weekly just as a way to help keep things super clean. I've had countless viewers use it to clean out even the nastiest of tanks with great results
