  1. might have a line for you on the skimmer. Got a box to ship it in?
  2. Can you fix the pic? It isn't showing up
  3. Having used the stuff for a couple of months now, I can say that I think you'd end up wasting a lot of it by trying to split up. The stuff is super sticky and doesn't flow like regular super glue. If you tried to split it up, you'd probably lose a lot of it on utensils and in the original bottle. Plus you'd be losing one of the major benefits of it which is the no clog cap. Whomever kept the original bottle would retain that benefit, but everyone else would lose out. Will you use up 295mL over 2 yrs on a 34G tank, probably not. If you get your corals to grow really fast and you frag them like crazy - maybe. But I promise you in 2 yrs, you won't have that 34 anymore. You'll upgrade and use the glue on the new rock/corals. For me, I hope I never run out because I know when I do run out, that'll be right when I need it most. It always happens that way! All that being said, since I'm a dealer for EcoTech gear, if a couple of people want to pick up some bottles, I can see about arranging a deal.
  4. I've tried to grow pods and I gave up. The amount of phyto I had to pump into the system made it cost prohibitive. You are supposed to keep the water (about 1/4 of a 5 gallon bucket full) green enough that you can't see the bottom. Well even with a small population of pods, I was blowing through a bottle of DT's about every 2 weeks. Another issue is pods like cooler water and little or no light. Everything I read said growing them in a cool basement is best. I'll be interested to see if you get better results with the warm water and high light.
  5. Aw Hey Man! We should plan on a TacoDeli meetup so we can grab lunch. Good to see you are on the order!
  6. best place to get them is bulk reef supply
  7. My other thought is that LEDs will do fine on my tank. Clearly you can grow SPS coral without a lot of light Sure there are some high light LEDs out there but from my PAR readings you can see that tons of light isn't the answer.
  8. That's about right Stephen. I was impressed at how much PAR you were getting at depth. My PAR fall off is very steep. The bottom on my tank was in the 25-30 range. Funky tho - my RBTA is happy down there.
  9. Jeremy (offroaddodge) works at a high end shop
  10. I'm setting up a Vivid Aquariums group buy as a thank you for them renewing their sponsorship. Vivid Aquariums has a great selection of just about everything, including FISH so peruse their website, then place your order keeping in mind the following: - Order closes, Friday, May 6th @ 5p. If I don't have your payment, I drop you from the order. Sorry, deadlines are deadlines. - Pickup will be @ my house. Or if we have enough interest, I can coordinate a north/south/central pickup. - Shipment will arrive probably Wednesday or Thursday the next week. Once the order is in I'll have an exact delivery date. - The shipment usually arrives @ 10:30a so if you can schedule breaking away from lunch or working from home, its a great way to get your goods early! - minimum GROUP total order is $150. So if we don't get enough interest to have a total order value of $150, it won't go - $225+ qualifies for free shipping, - Dry goods DO NOT count towards our order total, DO NOT get the 10% off and DO NOT get free shipping. - a $10 box fee applies to our order (we split it among everyone ordering) Payment works as such: I have to order and pay for everything myself. They won't let everyone pay individually then group our orders together (like @ reefcleaners.org). So I'm requesting that everyone either pay cash or paypal directly to me before 5p on Friday May 6th. Once I get everyone's order, I'll confirm it with them, then send the order off. PLEASE NOTE: If you are paying via paypal, be sure to add 3.5% for paypal fees. Paypal disabled my personal (no fee) option since they think I'm running a business. PM me for my paypal addy. Vivid Aquariums always gives us customer service and MORE than generous frags so you won't be disappointed. MAKE SURE you check out theirWYSIWYG picks. They are adding new inventory all the time and their stuff looks great!
  11. You want to have better than 40 PSI minimum at the membrane. Ideal is above 50.
  12. Not necessary. It's just for effect
  13. I'm not an electrician but I'd get another surge protector that you have laying around and see what that gets you.
  14. So you have one fixture to fit 2 bulbs? Is the reflective material salt stained or corroded? That also makes a big difference. Does it have glass? Is it permanelty stained too? Clean glass alone decreases lumen output by 10%, just imagine what a dirty glass and tarnished aluminum reflector decrease it. Why don't you already have LED's? Wouldn't that sell them the best? That's right, 1 single reflector. It isn't salt stained but I do have a a piece of glass between the bulbs and the water. The glass is clean. One thing is for sure when I switch to LEDs, I going to need to acclimate my corals as the AI SOL unit put out 2000 PAR right below the fixture and 600 right below the water level! (I'm not switching to AI units, I just used it as a frame of reference)
  15. that's a good thought. I didn't think of that.
  16. I think you are right Stephen. Mine is a single reflector. Not gonna go build a canopy and get some individual reflectors tho. I'll do LEDs instead!
  17. I measured these with an Apogee MQ-200 meter on the "electric" setting. The water pumps were turned off. The values seem low to me. What is really weird is the higher PAR reading on the corners near the sandbed vs. half way up the tank. The only thing I can think to attribute that too is my arm being in the way of the meter receiving all the light it could. Lighting: 2x250W 20K Reeflux bulbs driven off Lumatek e-ballast Reflector: Single reflector. It's an old Coralife MH fixture. There is a single pane of 1/8" glass on the bottom of the fixture.
  18. wish I'd know you were considering the Marineland product. I'd of steered you another way for a similar price. What do you have in your tank livestock wise?
  19. what do you want to grow in the tank?
