  2. Replacing the 10g office tank with a bigger drilled one, 20g high, 20g long, or 29g?

Go Big or Go Home....and look at the large tank you have there. I would go with the 20L.

@Leakytree. I think thats what he does. Little tank in his office then goes home to his Texas Tank.

  3. called Petsmart looking for a 20g tall, and the fish guy started talking my ear off about Aquatek and DSA like I had no idea what they were, and trying to give me advise on how to setup a Saltwater tank. Gotta Love'em

Same, only time a sock, floss, or a sponge is in there is after the sand is stirred up.

Only put one in when I am disturbing rock work or doing my bi-annual vacuuming of the sump.

  5. Last call for anyone who wants to hop on my Bulk Reef Supply order. Placing at 3:00. You know you always forget something!

  6. Placing a BRS order today and I'm already at free shipping, pm me if you need anything. Would like to place by 3:00 today!

  7. ditched the flex tubing with t fittings and went with a properly put together PVC manifold! My tank water level is the same as what it was and I was able to remove a Mag 9.5 in the process!

Sounds like you removed a bit of resistance.

  9. Is there a special kind of pad you can use under your pumps to dampen noise? I've seen mouse pads, any others?

Those that understand the dynamics of this website will offer their corals at good prices. And, the sellers that do so will sell the corals quickly. Others that try to get market or above will simply sit on their livestock…it all comes out in the wash :).

  11. Shane at fishy business has a nice looking one right now
  12. So I would do a manifold like yours? You're doing a 75g right? I have my Mag 9.5 doing just returns along with the 18 and it is done with all vinyl tubing to a barb t and then to the nossiles, would that have the same issues?
  13. on the right Probably not the best setup, but the vinyl goes to a t barbed fitting that splits it to my return nossiles.
  14. It has about a foot of PVC where it t's off for the reactor with a gate valve, the part that goes to the tank is vinyl tubing which goes to a t barb fitting and splits to the 2 return nossiles.
  15. I would like to run my Chiller, 200g tank returns 4x, and my GFO. And later down the line plumb in another tank for special Items... he he hee! Curious, your MAG18 runs all that and still gives you good pressure? Mine trickles out, and I'm only pulling a little bit out to run my TLF reactor.
  16. I'll touch base with you after this week. I'm not in a hurry, just learning.
  17. Bio, can I come check out your External setup so I can visualize it better?
  18. Ok, That's what I had in my head! LOL
  19. I had the same thing happen to my echinata, I cut off the dead tips as much as I could and it grew over and is all well now. Definitly my reccomendation.
  20. OK, they don't list them by HP so what would the gph be? And I don't quite understand the manifold suggestion. I think I do but I'm not 100%
  21. I currently have running 1 mag 12 for my chiller, 1 mag 18 that's returning water and running my GFO, and 1 mag 9.5 returning water. I'm transferring loads of heat because of this. I'm looking into switching to 1 strong external pump and manifolding it to run everything. What do I need to do this? Do I have to drill the side of my Sump? Any other way of judging how strong of a pump I need, It's my understanding that they handle head pressure better than my submerged pumps so an external doesn't necessarily need to be and strong to pull off the same results. Please help with your experiences!
  22. Anyone have a good recommendation for a small canister filter for my desktop tank. I hate this HOB filter!

  23. Don had great colors when he switched, if not better, but his tank crashed a few months ago so there goes that. I used to run MH and had good color and growth. But I blasted them with the 400w when I switched tanks and killed them so I can't compare really. I can show you the Birdsnest and Pocciapore that I had then and now. I'll look for some pics when I get home.
