  1. Hi. My name is Sherita. And I am a coralholic. Pleased to meet you. Good grief, it is entirely possible to have too many corals.

  3. And another free bump. I use these fixtures on my shallow zoa tanks. And I absolutely love them.
  4. Happy Dance! While moving some zoas around today I found the BHBEB's that my urchin stole. They were right side up, and had multiplied!

  5. I went to the dome today looking for pipefish. I left with pipefish, emerald crabs, possum wrasse, cleaner wrasses, and corals. How exactly does that work?!

I had it in reverse. I went looking to drop some serious cash on fish and left with an urchin.

Maybe we should go together. We might cancel each other out :)

  6. Dang, clothespins are getting harder and harder to find. I guess next time I will have to order them online.

I'm with you. Why waste the power? Clothesline is a project on the list when it gets cooler. I'm not digging post holes, and pouring concrete in this heat. So, fall project.

The summer is the best time to build post holes! At least that is what I was told when I was a kid

Somehow I don't see that happening :) I can keep it sound mechanically, but the body work is beyond my skill set.

    3. esacjack

      esacjack

in that case, just get the mechanical side working like factory, then make the body look like something out of Mad Max..

I'm going to have the body shop repair the body rot around the fender wells and then stick a set of flares on it. I wish I could find someone to put a cheap paint job on it, but no joy there.

  12. Oh yay. I've got to work on the truck again. Now it's a bad radius arm bushing. Thing is a big train in my butt.

  13. 108.6 degrees right now. Wow.

  14. I guess yahoo wasn't satisfied with screwing up their email. Now I see they have ruined yahoo news as well. Off to find my news somewhere else.

I'm tired of them. It seems they hired the larry, darrell and darrell web design company. Their motto is "if it ain't broke, it will be"

  15. Skimmer pump busted. Ugh. I've never seen a magnet split in half on a rio before. :P

  16. I scored a huge elephant mushroom and some truly awesome zoas at the Dome today! I can't believe that no one had grabbed those zoos. Pics in the morning. Don't hate.

      esacjack

*hatin* I was at the dome as well. Which zoos did you grab? I walked in to get a clam, got tangled up looking at corals, left with snails... wtf?

haha...thats how it always is for me...go in for something cool...leave with something i probably need

  17. What are the odds that I would have TWO zoa eating fish in the same tank?!? The tail spot blenny was eating the skirts, the stupid scopas was eating entire polyps. And yes, before you ask, I saw this with my own eyes. The blenny is in the fuge, the tang in a tank with no zoas. ARGH!

    1. JamesL

      JamesL

Wow. My scopas has been a model citizen. Was he eating just the ones without the skirts?

    2. Sherita

      Sherita

No, he was only eating the expensive ones. The skirtless ones were left alone.

  18. Murphy lives, but only until I find him.......

  19. The differential is on the bench and now I'm just waiting for the pest office to deliver the goods. The diff came down easy, but I'm betting it won't be that cooperative going back up. Heavy bugger.
  20. The final step of tear down will be this morning. Dropping the differential so I can remove the stub axle. My new one should be here within a few days, then I can start putting it back together again. Everything is ready.....bearings and seals in place, balljoints have been pressed in, new ujoints installed. Now, I'm just waiting on the pest office to deliver my last, very necessary part. I sure hope it goes back together easier than it came apart Finding some of the parts for this thing is like a very un-fun where's waldo. This particular truck changed four times in the first five months of 1988, so when you try to find parts......maybe you found the right one, maybe you didn't. It's particularly infuriating version of the Ford shell game.
  21. Yeah, I've searched everywhere. I want to change them out, so if I bust something while I'm away from home I'll have a better chance of finding parts at a 4wd shop. Mine can be cranky about locking in, so I normally drive with my hubs locked. If I need 4wd, it's just a clutch away. I have no urge to get into an argument with my hubs when I'm in a position to really need them.
  22. While one would think things would be dead on, so far I've found that to be not too on target Oil seals - unobtainium ujoints - unobtainium spindle bearings - obtanium, after referring to the big book 'o parts hubs - do. not. exist. Thankfully, the knuckle out conversion won't be hard, the Dana 44 front diff is common as dirt, but from the knuckles out my truck is one rare beastie. I always hate it when you are working on something and go "what is THAT part?!" I'm having fun with the stabilizer bar link bolts....metric nuts, sae bolts. Who thought that was a good idea? And the bushing replacement kit I bought has four little bushings in it that fit NOTHING on my truck. Somewhere, someone else bought that kit for those four little bushings, and are wondering what the 8 little top hat looking things and four roll pins are for (that's the parts I needed).
  23. This I understand all too well. The top hat hubs were only used from 88 to 88 1/2, then went extinct. They are the weirdest looking hub I have ever seen, and impossible to find replacements for. I'm going to start the search soon for a used axle from a D44 that will fit my truck, and then steal the stub axles, spindles and hubs from it to convert my truck over. Unobtainium - more common than you think. Anyone who has worked on an older vehicle has run into this. I love it when you go to the parts store for something, and they look at you like you have three heads. The crazy ujoints on my front end didn't exist in the book, we had to bust out a mic and then match up the measurements.
  24. Somewhere in the next year I'm going to do a knuckle out conversion on it. Thing has those weird top hat hubs, can't find parts anywhere. They are made of unobtanium. I'm going to convert it over to Warn hubs.
