  1. Great. My firefish are in the overflow in the 72g. This should be fun. Not.

Coke bottle trap! (if you can fit one in) and eggcrate over your overflow for future prevention ;)

My overflow is covered, they squirted through the teeth :P

Trap won't fit. I'm going to have to pull the canopy so I can net them.

  2. Yeah, but I like it out here. It's quiet, I have a few acres of land, and I can pretty much do what I want without anyone bugging me. But it is BFE. A round trip to the grocery store is about 65 miles.
  3. As some of you know, I picked up a really nice new tank from ReefKoi at MACNA. The time has come for that build to begin, so I need to move out my stacked frag system. Included: 2 shallow glass 22g frag tanks (uppers), 36x18x8t 1 glass 28g tank (lower) 30x13x17t Sturdy well built stand, painted black 36" T5 retrofit + ballast, 4 bulbs total (bulbs 3 months old) 2 bulbs above each of the upper tanks. LED moonlights, a double strip above both of the upper tanks durso drains for both upper tanks bulkheads for all three tanks, plumbing has been cut, you will need to couple back together custom screens that slide into tracks above the tanks, so you can lower the light for softies/lps if you want The two upper tanks are bottom drilled with internal overflows, the lower tank is back drilled, I had it set up to drain into the sump of one of my other systems. I used the upper shallow tanks for frags, and the lower tank was used for anemones and rock. The entire system is just over 6' tall, about 40" wide. These tanks are in VERY good condition. Included are the durso drains for the two upper tanks, and the bulkheads for all three tanks. Asking $350. PM me or text 325-two one four-zero135. I'm not really looking for any trades, but if you have something you think might blow my skirt up, it never hurts to ask. I can catch a ride for this system as far as Kingsland or Burnet, but you will have to paypal before I send it on its' way. I am located near Brownwood, so unless you are out here in the boonies with me, you can't just zip over to take a look at it . Both upper tanks look like this lower tank
  4. Sitting here waiting on FedEx to show up with my box 'o goodies from Blue Zoo. Hurry up!

  5. Congrats to Belinda! Her submission to the MACNA photo contest was one of the winners. She's in the calendar!

  6. Picking up the 210g this weekend. I can't wait!

  7. Move this tank over there, take that tank down, set that tank up. Yeesh. It's about to get real busy around here.

  8. It is an lps. You need to toothpick that vermitid. Their "nets" aggravate the snot out of corals, and cause tissue recession. Jab a toothpick into his hole, then pull the toothpick out and superglue his hole shut. They killed part of my red planet, and are no longer allowed to exist in my tank.
  9. That's a scroll coral, also called a ridge coral, ruffled coral, turbinaria, and cup coral. It will plate and scroll in a very pretty pattern. Moderate grower, not particularly aggressive.
  10. I'm up, look presentable, drinking coffee and then off to fight the Dallas traffic to get to MACNA. Gonna see a couple speakers today, check out more vendors, and maybe win something in the raffle :)

...and she did win a raffle. A VERY nice LED fixture. Matter of fact she won her 3 day pass to MACNA in a raffle. Lucky lady!!! The punch line is she doesn't like LED's. Lol

  11. Servers are down They are working on it. No idea when it will come back up.
  12. I call baloney. The common industry standard for membranes is 98% rejection rate. Your TDS should be 6 exiting the membrane. And at 6, your di resin should last several months. Mine normally lasts from 10-12 months. 300 tds in is not unusual at all, I have over 300 going into the system. 0 coming out. You have something sneaky going on. How old is the membrane, how old are the prefilters? Edit: who is the manufacturer of the unit?
  13. Wondering if there are any plans for a fall frag swap? My frag system is completely out of control and getting overgrown.

Hey I can't get a message to you. is your box full?

  14. I'm getting around 1000g out of mine before it needs changing. My prefilters get changed much more often (every 2 months or so). Some TDS readings would help, if you have a meter. If you have one or can borrow one, what is your TDS: going into the system between the prefilters and the membrane coming out of the membrane going to the di resin coming out of the di resin What's your water pressure going into the filtration system? What kind of system is it (four stage, five stage, six stage)? 100g sure seems like very little before losing your di resin. I run a huge amount of water through my rodi and my di resin lasts probably 10-12 months.
  15. Cyano outbreak mystery solved. TDS was way up. New filters and resin, and I'm back to "0". RO/DI tank and mixing stations all cleaned with acid and ready to start fresh. The only bad part was dumping nearly 80g of mixed saltwater and 60g of rodi down the drain. Lesson learned, stay on top of filter changes.

  16. Polyfilter! In case you wound up with copper leaching from the circuitboards. Good luck, hope it turns out ok.
  17. After fighting me for a week, the 4x4 repairs are done. Sum total of repairs: new radiator (fan shroud came apart, knocked a hole in old one) remove right exhaust manifold, have machined, re-install with new gasket (no more exhaust leak!) drain and refill transmission check levels on front differential, rearend, transfer case oil change grease lube points, check front output shaft for slop in u-joints adjust clutch linkage for shorter throw on clutch tighten steering gearbox tighten e-brake install brake controller install 7-blade socket for travel trailer connection install 6-pin socket for flatbed trailer connection put bed toolbox back in, load with goodies The only thing left to do is re-install my skid plate, but it's bent and I gotta whoop on it with a sledgehammer and get it straight before putting it back on. And to top it off, oil change and lube points on my Astro van. I am DONE. Hotter than a firecracker from being outside, gonna soak me up some a/c now.
  18. Spent the afternoon turning wrenches on the 4WD. Exhaust manifold is finally off, and waiting for the attention of the machine shop monkeys.

I'll take the candy cane. Chad will pick it up when he picks up his stuff tomorrow.
  20. It's not a good sign at all. Sounds like brown jelly disease. All you can do now is keep using the baster to get it off the coral and hope for the best. I have had a little success using an iodine dip on infected coral, but honestly, your coral probably won't make it. Brown jelly disease is very hard to stop once it gets started.
  21. Belinda, normally a bead of Weld-On #16 applied to a crack will fix it. Even better, if you can get a small patch of acrylic and use the #16 to glue it in place, that will strengthen it even more. Gimme a call if you need help/advice, ya know my number
