  1. me too....I want the standard propagation kit but they are out
  2. The wavepoint probadly came with stock bulbs. I would use them for 3-4 months tops then upgrade to ATIs or KZ to get alot more PAR (usable light)
  3. I had PCs before upgrading to T5. With pcs you.ll want to change bulbs every 4-6 months. I kept montis and lps under pcs no prob.
  4. good price......I bet a new 54W 12K bulb is almost $30.00
  5. some kinda filter feeder......that's good
  6. When I move from one tank to another I always start with new sand. It's simpler and safer IMO. You can seed the new with a few cups of your old sand if you want. I used rubbermaids for the LR and corals, fish and everything went well. Just make sure to separate LPS from SPS in the tubs.....or chemical warfare will ensue....and the cheaper coral usually wins.
  7. Me too. I did notice that MarineDepot is having a sale on a reef keeper lite package deal with head unit, 4 pwr outlet strip, PH probe, temp probe: ReefKeeper Lite.
  8. me me me me me : I would like the : small tubbs blue zoas on a disk with a small frag of green birdsnest $25
  9. Not all wrasses need a sand bed. The only one I know of is the Leopard Wrasse. Mine also dive bombs into the sand. I actually rarely see her do it. You just see a puff of sand. I do not recommend this fish for a bare sand bed. They are all wild caught as well. One funny thing I noticed about mine was her sleeping habits where not on this time zone. After a month or so she started sleeping at 10pm and waking up late morning (lazy fish..haha). She sleeps at the same time every night......amazing internal clock. My wrasse could care less about the other fish. I do see her hunting for pods alot (also eats, pellets, rods, flake) so an established aquarium may be best. I may have gotten lucky as I have heard of others that wont touch pellets, frozen or flake.
  10. Nice setup! I have a Leopard Wrasse and she (they are all born female) is an extremely nice fish. Just make sure to have at least a1" sand bed as they sleep under the sand
  11. Yo Brook'ster, What is that skimmer again? And does it come with any kinda light?
  12. +1 Nassarius snail When you put food in the tank they immediately raise their "periscopes"; then come crashing up from the sand like little tanks and start the search and destroy mission for food.......ok I play to much COD
  13. For the budget conscience like me you can get away with a 4 bulb T5. A 6 bulb'r would be better. I like my AquaticLife T5 fixture. A TEK or ATI may be better but will cost more. I prefer the AquaticLife because of the built in 3 way timer and ONE power cord.
  14. I used to have an Acrylic tank. I found that acrylic retains heat so I would recommend a T5 setup unless you are prepared to buy a chiller....just sayin
  15. Before I setup my first reef in 2002 I read: The Reef Aquarium I (Julian Sprung and Charles Delbeek) and The Natural Reef Aquarium (Tullock), but I am not sure sure if the publisher is still printing.
  16. I need 1 Half Gallon Lignite Carbon - Large Particle . I work near Great Hills Trail so I can drop off the cash or whatever you prefer.
  17. Very festive. The Chalice looks very Christmas
  18. Homer Simpson: "mmmmmm baby clowns"
  19. I use the moonlights integrated in my AquaticLife fixture. All LED lights will give a ripple effect as the light is "pointed". If the lights are too bright they may not be good for moon lights as the corals underneath the LED's may not "go to sleep".
  20. My fish and corals love Rod's Food (original). My Acan's, torch, chalice's and brain put out lots of feel'ers as soon as it hits the water. I also feed FreezerBar (cyclopeeze available at your LFS) . I like the cyclopeeze because it has very low water content and is very high in protein.
  21. Thanks for the info. That was the most unprofessional response I've ever read......WOW.
  22. thanks for opening the buffett Mike. I am interested in 1 - A. Horrida-Hairy and 1- Northern lights. PM sent
