It's called.......GSP deathmatch JK.....since GSP encrusts I would imagine they will merge into one super hard to get rid of GSP. I have actually done this in a previous tank and the two pieces merged into one freakin huge mass of GSP.

I guess you would need to buy new tank and a PRE DRILLED one. Perhaps the tank being used may not have been the issue. Drilling glass creates heat.....heat weakens glass.

I use a long turkey baster. It works best if you use a plastic tie to secure the bulb to the stem. I also use the baster to blast rocks before I do a water change.

Which petco stores in Austin sell saltwater fish? Or do they all?

Thanks for the info Stephen, I will give Petco a try on my next fish order. I have also had bad luck ordering fish online. Of the two I have tried....both died. "Knock on wood".....but I have not had a fish die from a local fish store.

I would recommend a Flasher Wrasse for color. There is a Vivid Aquariums group buy going on. They have some really color fish.

I also had a blue legged monster. I saw him just pull crabs out of their shells and walk away. He had a turbo shell for his house. Perhaps he was just a stone cold killer. I took him out and all is well now. I have two peppermints and he did not mess with them. Shrimp can be very fast so I doubt he could catch them. They also hide REAL good. I have not seen them for a few days multiple times.

Man, the purple plus kinda overpowers the blueplus and makes the tank look pink/purple/reddish. The Corals absolutely pop wth color but the liverock looks pink/reddish. I think I am going to go with the two blueplus's instead.

SOLD Hello All, I have one brand new 36" - 39W - ATI purple plus T5 HO bulb. I tried it out for my dusk setting with one blue plus and do no like it. My experiment is your gain. I used the purple plus for two hours. I have the receipt showing the bulb is brand new. thanks, Derek

Yea man that thing is growing fast. I laid it side ways on the rock and it has now encrusted and is growing large.....Since I upgraded my bulbs to Aquablue specials the digi's are taking off

I just returned a UV Super Actinic T5 420nm because they look really dim to me. It also had a light pink/purple color. The 420nm I guess is just to faint for the human eye to see. I have also heard that it is great for zooxanthellae growth though so if I had more than a 4 bulb fixture I would have included one. I just got the new ATI purple plus T5 in today. I'll let you know what I think after I install it.

If you want to use Purple Up. Use it. It's still available, reviews seem good. I doubt its garbage. Their are less expensive products for dosing CA, KH, Mg and Iodine. If you plan on keeping the tank you will eventually use the individual bottles for CA, KH, Mg and Iodine.
