We were about 10th in line and very glad for it. In and out in about 15 minutes. That line was crazy when we left.

I'm really sad I missed it, but I know if I went, I would have spent money I don't have :(.

  2. You know it's bad when your dreams/nightmares involve saving a pistol shrimp from death in a freshwater tank. I'm pretty sure I went to bed with the RCA doorbusters on my mind!

  3. Just posted a craigslist add for new roommate in my 3bd, 2.5ba house. I live in Pville and am clearly tank friendly :). LMK if you or someone else you know may be interested.

  4. I knew the break would be done before it started, but really, come on!

  5. Setting up the chiller on my seahorse tank - I'm trying to hold off on purchasing the seahorses until I return from xmas vacation but . . .its . . so. .. tempting .. .

  6. Never thought about using a soda bottle to keep fish separated. That's a cool idea.
  7. There's a top on it and the evaporation isn't too bad (maybe top off once/wk). But that's a good reminder for me to make sure it's full to the top before I leave tomorrow.
  8. The 29 is my anenome and clown fish tank. I'm a little nervous the clown fish would pick on the sexy shrimp? I'm thinking they'd be okay as well, just looking for confirmation I guess .
  9. Hi Everyone, I have a 2 gallon pico set up at work with some corals and sexy shrimp. The light is on an automatic timer and I will be at work tomorrow to feed everything. The question is, Should I bring the sexy shrimp home for the Thanksgiving break? The tank will be unattended for 5 days at work. If I bring them home, they will go into my 29 gallon biocube. Thoughts?
  10. Just got a small bonus from work and I really really want to spend it . . . pay down credit cards or push checkout on aquacon.com?????

If I were you, I would research the feedback on Aquacon before buying anything from that vendor.

I think BiocubeD has a good point!!! I wonder if I can get Belinda to buy it?

  11. Got him today!!!!!! It took the trap being in the tank for a few days and not feeding the tank when he finally went all the way in. It was fantastic
  12. Yeah, you may have to wait and not feed for a day or so, if you do I would recommend leaving the trap in the tank so they get used to it being there with no food.... Also when I made mine I made the entrance a little bigger by cutting the hard part of the plastic neck off and give him a little room to get in. Done and Done. Now the trap is just sitting there making my tank look ugly for the next day or so . . . This is a no gun house lol Ha! He'd just scurry away murmuring about how stupid I am. Smart little devil
  13. I think that's what I'll have to do. . . .
  14. ok - patience is not my virtue . So far he checked it out - but i think he concluded it's a trap cause he's back to hanging out under the rock far away from the bait. On the other hand, my snails and pepps are trying to get in . .. . I'll give it a bit longer (unfortunately, I already fed the tank this morning so probably not that hungry).
  15. awesome - thanks for the link - I'm gonna try it right now!
  16. Hey, Anyone have any ideas? The guy is super friendly and will readily crawl on my hand, but as soon as I try to lift him out of the tank or put a net in to grab him he takes off (smart a**). Anyway, he's a pig and I want to move him out of my seahorse tank and into the clown fish tank so he won't be all over the seahorse food (once I get seahorses). Thoughts?
  17. very interested in chiller - please pm me details (brand, condition, etc)
  18. I think Mindflux has some great advice. 10 gallon tank from petco cheap hang on the back filter (can usually borrow from someone - I've got tons - you'd just have to drive out to pville hyposalinity - cause it doesn't cost anything I agree that there is no real need for a light. If you run the filter with carbon, you can probably get away with 1-2 water changes per week. The purpose of having a cycled tank is so there is bacteria present to take care of the ammonia and other dangerous ions - or is that atoms? I don't know chem . In any case, carbon and water changes should help keep those levels in check.
  19. Does he eat frozen mysis or only live food? What size tank does he require? I've got a mixed coral tank with zero inhabitants (other than coral), but it's only 12 gallons.
  20. evacuating house - too many animals to wait to last minute. Fish are in water so they will be fine - right?:???????

I'm just praying for the families in Steiner and Bastrop - how horrible and scary

  21. Every time I look at your tank photos I feel like a kid. It's the "I want, I want, I want" syndrome
  22. Hey - hows it going with the different sea grasses? It took forever, but my oar grass is finally growing in my 5 gallon. The turtle, manatee and shoal grasses are still taking a while to settle in. Do you supplement w/iron, magnesium, etc.? Have you found some to do better than others? Would also love any pic updates you have Oh - your third seahorse - what kind is she?
  23. Just got my order of gorgonians from aquatic connection. Red sea whip, Indo Lace, Purple corky finger, Golden rod, white lightning, orange tree. What an exciting day!
