Vivid Aquariums Group Order TAKE 9...last one for '09

I'm wanting to do one more Vivid order and its perfect timing for those of you who have corals/fish on your christmas list!

Vivid Aquariums has a great selection of just about everything, including FISH so peruse their website, then place your order keeping in mind the following:

- Order closes, Monday, Dec 14th, @12p

- Pickup will be @ my house, 8422 Jamestown Dr, 78758 or if we have enough people, I can coordinate a central pickup.

- if we have enough "southies", I'll coordinate a southern pickup.

- The shipment usually arrives @ 10:30a so if you can schedule breaking away from lunch or working from home, its a great way to get your goods early!

- minimum GROUP total order is $150. So if we don't get enough interest to have a total order value of $150, it won't go

- $225+ qualifies for free shipping, otherwise shipping is a flat $30. After the free shipping discount, they will just charge us $10 for the box. We'll split this charge among everyone involved.

- $500+ gets us a 10% discount EXCLUDING WYSIWYG items or "pack" items - e.g. reef cleaner packs, acro packs.

- Dry goods DO NOT count towards our order total, DO NOT get the 10% off and DO NOT get free shipping.

Payment works as such: I have to order and pay for everything myself. They won't let everyone pay individually then group our orders together (like @ reefcleaners.org). So I'm requesting that everyone either pay cash or paypal directly to me before 12p on 8a on Monday, Nov 9th. Once I get everyone's order, I'll confirm it with them, then send the order off. PLEASE NOTE: If you are paying via paypal, be sure to add 3% for paypal fees OR use the "personal" option.

I'll let people chime in with pictures of what they got from vivid in the past. I've had GREAT customer service from them and MORE than generous frags so you won't be disappointed. MAKE SURE you check out their WYSIWYG picks. They are adding new inventory all the time and their stuff looks great!

A note on the personal option. When you do personal, it automatically charges you 3%. However, if you validate your account (i.e., tie it to a bank account), then all transaction fees go away. If you are nervous about doing that, here's what I did:

1. Setup another checking account at your bank (it really needs to be an online account with no minimum balance or fees).

2. Do not setup or disable overdraft protection for this new checking account.

3. Tie the PayPAL account to this checking account.

4. Transfer in small amounts of money as you need to pay for PayPAL stuff.

Maybe I'm being paranoid, but with all the PayPAL scams out there, I don't want my money being sucked dry from PayPAL.

Additional note, you can ONLY avoid the 3% by paying with a linked BANK ACCOUNT. Paypal always charges a fee if you use a Credit Card as the fund source.

ok cool. sounds good.

thanks for the heads up doktor :)

No problem. In fact, they are about $5 cheaper from Mama.

Mark: With the holidays coming up I'm on a tight schedule and I can do this order, but I can't tolerate a day or two delay in placing the order. Are you going to be pretty hard-*** about getting the order in on the 14th?

I'm sticking to the 14th as the order date. I'd like to see the order ship on the 15th, but no later than the 16th. Mostly the order date gets shifted b/c Vivid wants to make sure the fish are ok, or tell me that they are super busy so that if we wait a day, we get better coral selection.

Mark...we'll take:

Vivids Red Pepper Montipora

Size 1/2" Frag for $34.99

Thanks...Belinda

Is that a WYSIWYG item?

If people want WYSIWYG items, please let me know so I can have Vivid hold them. They're already started our stash!
