  1. In my order to Reefs2Go, they were supposed to send me two 1-inch male clownfish (or mated pair). They have been fighting and has really picked up over the last few days. They are both very ragged looking, scarred, and ripped fins (the pectoral fins of one are almost gone). How long do they tend to fight to establish female/male dominance? I'm wondering if they are actually both females and that Reefs2Go screwed up on the sexes (they screwed up the sizes--they were 2-inches)?
  2. Howdy. Has anyone in ARC successfully battled red wire algae (Gelidiopsis)? What methods did you use? The two I've read on wetwebmedia is a) increased weekly water changes (which I'm loathe to do); and b) reduced feedings. Thanks.
  3. Hah. They are doing fine... I was making a joke about "trash" palys... Lame, I know.
  4. They are hard to see. Normally they don't open up until late afternoon / early evening... when they finally emerge from their trailers.
  5. If we do a group order, I'm in on a few items.
  6. I'm going to ping them again directly. If I don't get a timely response, by all means go on without me. I'll find my stuff elsewhere.
  7. Still waiting on them to respond to my queries.
  8. Similar. I don't have anything in the fraggable size range, but if you want to clear some out I'll take a piece.
  9. Having stuff too close to the glass is a newbie mistake I made. Now I have a thick bit of coraline algae obscuring part of my scape because of it. I don't have the energy to redo it, though.
  10. If they look good in your photo program, be sure to convert your pictures to the sRGB color space before uploading them to websites. That's what is used for web-viewing.
  11. +1 Gonzo. It's harmless. Most (all?) white ones are harmless. If you find reds or browns, that's a problem.
  12. I've settled on one on the back-left-side about 1/5 of the way from the top pointing slightly up and blasting from left-to-right at the other powerhead which is mounted on the back-right-back near the top and blasting toward the front. It creates has the effect of causing things to spin round clockwise with updrafts in the center. I mainly settled because I got tired trying to figure out what the best was--Lateral Lines. For reference, two K1's in a 20(l)x16(w)x20(d). It's a Solana. What about other other Solana users, how do you do yours?
  13. +1 for 250 MH (or equiv. ). There's a lot of folks on Nano Reef that run 250s for their SPS Solanas.
  14. Also, piers may take him. You would have to PM him. He has this monstrosity of a white-spotted hermit crab that is a beaut but totally destructive. These critters get to 12" across and host in triton shells. RELEASE THE KRAKEN!
  15. That's a good thought. I do get falling water by the evening because of evap. I haven't completed my ATO system so I hand top-off daily. I'll try raising the water level to account for evap. so I don't get falling water.
  16. Does chaeto produce gas? I have stage 1 skimmer, stage 2 refugium (chaeto, live rubble, pods), stage 3 return pump.
  17. I'll try and monitor it. When you turn off your main pump and then some time later turn it back on, do you get a flood of micro-bubbles into the tank? In only lasts for a few seconds, but it is pretty dense bubble cloud.
  18. I'm curious about where the water is going to come from. I know they are more efficient in water reclamation than most, but if I can't water my yard anytime I want... Personally I'm not a fan of waterparks. It's about 5 minutes from me. NIMBY. It's going to kill me heading down toward 183A.
  19. Yeah, I already got the bugger moved. I knew the answer in the ol' gut.
