  1. do you have a bucket and an extra pump? I got a small float from a member on here for $5.00 and spliced it into a extension cord. I then made a clip to hold the float in the refugium. all you do then is plug up the pump to one end of the cord then plug the other end into the wall. i use a bucket for the RO water but you could always dress it up a little. here is a link to where i got the idea from. it works great. the video is not all that great but it works. i can send you some pics later if you want. you can find the floats for cheap
  2. do you have pictures of yours? if so can you post them
  3. i dont have room for extra fish so i have to go a different route. any other suggestions for me Dave?
  4. thanks for the input. ill suck some of it out when i do my next water change.
  5. i have a lot of crud in my sump. should i clean it our and remove all of the water from there and then refill it? I always thought that your were supposed to leave the sump alone. i have a blue filter pad like you see in the picture but Im not sure if it is enough to trap everything. Should I change to a filter bag and let it hang down in the water?
  6. thank you for your input. it helps.
  7. only 2 small frags. didnt see them on there tonight
  8. i got all the ones off the top with a turky baster. i read that they hid in the rock work until the lights go out and they multiply like crazy. i need to treat the whole tank and refugium.
  9. is this something that you can treat the whole tank with with out killing anything else? i was reading that some stuff kills other worms or even inverts.
  10. here are some pictures of them on the leather coral. they are going to be large photos so you can see them. they are the best i can get. they are on the edge
  11. I knew my time would come and its here. I was looking in my refugium and saw them on a coral there that i was houseing down there. i looked in the main tank and they are all over my toad stool leather coral and who knows what else. i guess this answers the question to why my birdnest is dying. i know that other have had these and i know that there is a thread here about them some where but i couldnt find it. how do i get rid of them? I need to start treatment tomorrow.
  12. This is not the best picture of the tank but it will have to do for now. This is my 29 gallon Biocube that is 13 months old and a lot of dollars later. I want to take this time to say thank you to everyone who has helped me out with corals, fish, parts, etc. With out a great group of individuals like the ones here I would not be as far as I am today. I will miss this community when I move to San Antonio in a few months. But..... plan on hearing from me after I move for I will continue to trade and buy for you guys and will continue to shop at the stores here when I am in town. I will have to stock my 120 gallon once I move and will need a lot of stuff to put in it.
  13. the pictures didnt come through. would you be willing to part anything out?
  14. im going to upgrade as soon as i move to SA and get settled in. i have a 120 gallon tank sitting at the house right now that i picked up on a trade with another person. thanks for your input
  15. thank you all for the input. is there a huge difference in running a 150W bulb compared to a 250W bulb? I have a 29 gallon biocube that has softies, hard corals, and a couple of SPS. the SPS coral is starting to encrust and has polyps coming out.
  16. so if its a 150W ballast, I can put in a 250W bulb? would it make a difference in the lighting or should I wait to get a new ballast to?
  17. question..... can a 150W bulb and a 250W bulb be put into the same fixture? The reason Im asking is becuase I have a 150W 14K bulb running right now but I wanted to upgrade to a 250W.
